Sarah Harris gets revenge on Tom Gleeson after his brutal interview

STUDIO 10s co-hosts teamed up to get revenge on Tom Gleeson after he mocked Sarah Harris on the ABC.

STUDIO 10 co-hosts Sarah Harris and Angela Bishop had comedian Tom Gleeson on the ropes during a hilarious segment on the Channel 10 morning show.

Gleeson had previously grilled Harris on his Hard Chat segment which airs during The Weekly with Charlie Pickering on the ABC.

And this morning Harris and her co-hosts decided to get payback and grilled Gleeson during a segment creatively called Revenge Chat.

Harris fired the first shot at Gleeson, asking, “When you were at uni you played drums in a band. How did you end up playing second fiddle (to Charlie Pickering) on The Weekly?”

“Charlie can be quite abrasive so I’m there just to take the edge off his unappealing personality,” Gleeson responded.

Then Bishop had a crack. “Is it true you were sacked from night time radio when the bosses weren’t even around to hear how bad you were?”

“What actually happened was I was on Triple M and they moved us to weekend breakfast and no one was listening to us and our ratings were very low,” Gleeson said, before returning fire with a zinger. “I feel like you would know what that feels like here at Studio 10.”

The best line in the segment came from Harris who asked, “You grew up in Gunnedah. It’s a town full of famous Kerr’s; Miranda Kerr, her mum Therese Kerr … are you the long lost brother, Wayne Kerr (pronounced ‘W*nker’)?”

Gleeson usually manages to keep a straight face during his Hard Chat segments but Harris’ question tickled his fancy and he started laughing.

“I’ve been known to be self-sufficient, yeah,” he replied.

The roasting continued as Bishop asked, “You do Hard Chat, you do Hard Quiz. What’s all this obsession with hard things? Are you compensating for something?”

“No, to be honest I’m hard all the time,” Gleeson said. “If anything I need to soften my image.”

Studio 10 co-host Denise Scott, who was seated with the studio audience, spoke up and said to Gleeson, “When you were doing your Hard Chat with Sarah, you referred to me personally as not only old but dry”.

“I took that really hard, Tom,” Scott joked. “I told you that in strictest confidence!”

The segment finished on another high as Scott unleashed on Gleeson.

“Is the reason you do this, Tom, because you’re just like all the politicians; you’re middle-aged, overweight, balding and going nowhere?”

There was a short awkward silence after Scott’s barrage and then she hilariously backtracked, saying, “Oh, that went a bit harsh”.

Gleeson will grill PR Queen Roxy Jacenko in his Hard Chat segment which will air during The Weekly with Charlie Pickering on the ABC at 8.30pm tonight.
