HYBPA: Denise Scott hilariously storms off set over Studio 10 joke

DENISE Scott didn’t appreciate a joke from Sam Pang on last night’s episode of Have You Been Paying Attention.

DENISE Scott was less than impressed when Sam Pang mocked Studio 10 on last night’s episode of Have You Been Paying Attention?

Quizmaster Tom Gleisner asked the panellists: “Good news for the giant Australian cuttlefish this week. What’s happened?”

Tony Martin was the first to answer and said: “It’s joining the cast of Studio 10.”

Scott, who became a full-time host on Studio 10 back in April, laughed at Martin’s answer before Sam Pang chipped in.

“Got a bit too much life in it for that, I would have thought,” Pang joked.

In response, Scott got up from her chair and looked like she was about to storm of the HYBPA set.

Gleisner did his best to diffuse the hilarious situation and took Scott over to Pang and instructed the Nova radio star to apologise for his ageist joke.

“It took me until 63 to get a job on that show,” Scott said to Pang as she pretended to get emotional. “Now you’re taking away the little bit of glory I’ve got.”

Ed Kavalee was loving the confrontation and said: “This is the best drama that Ten’s had in years!”

Scott eventually returned to her spot on the HYBPA set and yelled to Pang: “You’ll be on Studio 10 one day and you’ll be happy.”

Kavalee brought an end to the drama with another zinger, saying: “That is one of the great showbiz threats: ‘You’ll be on Studio 10!’”

Scott is one of this country’s most loved comedians and social media was full of compliments for her performance on the Channel 10 quiz show last night.

Kavalee also raved about Scott on his 2Day FM breakfast show this morning, telling his co-hosts Em Rusciano and Grant Denyer, “Man, she is so much fun!”

“On Studio 10 they should put her in the middle, don’t give anyone a run down, and then let Denise Scott just decide what they’re talking about for four hours a day,” he said. “It would be the biggest rollercoaster.”

Kavalee also shared a quick behind-the-scenes story about Scott on HYBPA, saying, “She turned to me at one point and was like, ‘Ed, I don’t know what’s happening.’”
