Two fan favourite couples are sent home on Beauty and the Geek

Before the competition said a final goodbye to two couples, one Geek confessed his love for a beauty in the sweetest way possible.

It was the penultimate episode of Beauty and the Geek so something big was bound to happen.

Host Sophie Monk let the contestants know that not one, but two teams would be going home before the big finale on Tuesday night.

In the first challenge to determine which two couples would make it through the finale, the remaining newly transformed Geeks had to go through speed dating with some gorgeous bachelorettes. They were put to the ultimate test to demonstrate everything they have learnt about confidence.

As for the Beauties, they had to engage in a game of Dungeons and Dragons, to test their intellect and imagination.

Sam, in his own words, was an absolute ‘trainwreck’ when going through the speed dating rounds, opting to tell the ladies about his one big night at a Gentleman’s Club.

“I was so bloody nervous, I think I spilt half of my drink on my pants.”

Aira wasn’t much better off, making her personalised storyline in her Dungeons and Dragons game about a topless mermaid who wanted a ‘massage’.

That’s probably why they didn’t find themselves safe, and neither did Alexander and Eliza or James and Jess.

Lachlan and Kiera along with George and Josie did a very impressive job, fast-tracking them straight to the finale.

Before the elimination challenge, James took the opportunity to take Jess on a romantic picnic date and drop a huge revelation.

Giving her a Beauty and the Beast inspired pair of earrings, James expressed his love for Jess. “I don’t know if it’s too soon to say, you have taught me to love myself and … I love you.”

“Saying it too soon could jeopardise this situation,” Jess tells the camera, but that didn’t stop her at all.

“You know I love you too,” she tells him, before they kiss and cuddle in the sun light.

“Everyone wants to fall in love, but falling in love with Jess … that’s my fairytale,” James later tells the camera.

Adorable.

Fast-forward to the elimination, and the competition says its final goodbyes to both James and Jess as well as Sam and Aira, with Alexander and Eliza cementing their positions in the grand finale on Tuesday night.

The winners will earn themselves $100,000.
