The Veronicas publicly blast Celebrity Apprentice
The Veronicas have continued their outspoken public critiques of Celebrity Apprentice today, fuming over their portrayal on the reality show.
Musical duo The Veronicas - aka twin sisters Jess and Lisa Origliasso - have today continued their public criticisms of Celebrity Apprentice, a day after they accused the show of giving the contestants “scripted drama” and selectively editing the show to make them look bad.
In a since-deleted tweet posted to their official account this morning, The Veronicas once again took the reality show to task:
In follow-up tweets, the Veronicas claimed they signed on after being promised the show would have “heart,” given it would mean time away from caring for their ill mother.
“We came on the show to raise money for charity and awareness for The Brain foundation. We didn’t need to do this show for exposure. We signed on after they stressed & emphasised it would be a show with heart; given we had to take physical time away from our mama to do it,” they wrote.
“Everyone knows us fighting is part of our brand - that doesn’t bother us. What does is bringing us onboard under the pretence of heart - then editing out why were there in the first place /our love for our team - leaving us only with drama. Our charity deserved so much more.”
This new critique of Celebrity Apprentice from the pair comes a day after they publicly tweeted at the show’s official Twitter account, saying it gave the contestants “scripted drama” and used selective editing to make them look bad.
“Celeb Apprentice, why are you not airing any of our wins & strategy for each task, only using the scripted drama you GAVE us as the only airtime /promo? Where’s all the footage where we pull through for our team /and for our charity? Why is all of that being edited out?” the sisters wrote.

No response from Celebrity Apprentice’s Twitter account yet, although one suspects “because this is a reality show” would be the obvious answer. Veronicas fans have rallied around the pair.
“Give our girls the bad edit and we are gonna be out for blood,” wrote fellow singer Kira Piru in a response to their tweet.
“You are being portrayed as the evil villains – the true joy of reality TV television. The producers do whatever they like to create a storyline,” wrote another fan.
They’re doing you dirty and it’s so undeserved. Honesty IS entertaining, Celeb Apprentice,” said another.
The sisters are among 15 local celebrities competing in this season, all playing to win cash for their chosen charities. For The Veronicas, it’s personal: they chose the charity The Brain Foundation because their beloved mother has a rare neurological condition called progressive supranuclear palsy.
The sisters previously asked their fans to “use common sense” when watching the show, after its debut episode appeared to show a fiery argument between them.
“My patience is getting thin, so if you know what needs to be said please say it,” Jess told Lisa in the episode, prompting her sister to declare: “You’re being a bit much.”
The duo released a statement after the episode aired, writing: “We can’t believe we actually need to preface this: But reality TV is highly edited out of ‘context’ to amplify drama. And narrative that suits the agenda. Please use common sense and understand this is obviously not a transparent show – it’s game show entertainment.

“The only ‘business’ in this show is the business of entertainment and drama … don’t get confused about what this is. And we will continue to bring you the laughs and relatability.”
The musical siblings are no strangers to a social media spat, having famously feuded online with the airline QANTAS, Jess’ ex-partner Ruby Rose, and each other.
They’re also no strangers to reality television, having previously starred in the fly-on-the-wall docuseries The Veronicas: Blood Is for Life.
News.com.au has contacted the Nine Network for comment, and understands that upcoming episodes of Celebrity Apprentice will feature The Veronicas more heavily.
