The Masked Singer Australia: Why Dannii Minogue refused to use her trailer

Dannii Minogue has revealed why she chose not to use her trailer next to Lindsay Lohan and Jackie O’s while filming The Masked Singer.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Dannii Minogue behind the scenes of The Masked Singer.

Minogue is one of the four celebrities on the show’s guessing panel along with Lindsay Lohan, Dave “Hughesy” Hughes and Jackie O who are tasked with trying to figure out the identity of the 12 Masked Singers.

The three female stars each had a trailer of their own backstage at Fox Studios in Sydney to use during filming. But ahead of the show’s premiere at 7.30pm tonight on Channel 10, Minogue revealed to news.com.au that she refused to use her trailer because it made her sick.

“I started using it but because of all the different studios being used at Fox and where the production was, our trailers were on top of grass and it just happened to be raining on those weeks we were filming,” Minogue explained.

“It kept sinking into the grass and moving like a boat and for most people it wouldn’t have meant anything, but I get seasick so easily and so quickly from anything that moves from side to side.

“Once I feel sick, it can be the next five hours of lying down trying not to vomit. We had no time for that. I didn’t want anybody to be left waiting thinking, ‘Where is she?’”

Minogue even took a motion sickness tablet in a bid to be able to use her trailer, but when that failed she decided to move to a dressing room inside one of the Fox Studios buildings instead.

Jackie O revealed last week on her KIIS FM breakfast show that for some reason, Hughesy didn’t get his own trailer on the show.

“We don’t know where Hughesy’s dressing room was,” the radio star said. “He just goes in, puts on his outfit and gets a bit of powder put on his face and he’s done. It’s not a big effort.”

Minogue might have missed out on some backstage fun with her female co-stars on the show, but she said she more than made up for it during a night of clubbing in Sydney.

“Lindsay said, ‘I can organise for us to go to a nightclub and have a private area and hang out,’ and we were like, ‘Yes!’” Minogue told news.com.au.

“Hughesy came as well and Lindsay had all her security with her. They looked after her well and also took us under their wing.

“It was all pretty mad and exciting for everyone, for us and the spectators,” Minogue said. “It was crazy We just loved it.”

Jackie O explained on KIIS FM last week how she reaped the benefits of Lohan’s security guards.

“I went to the public toilet in this nightclub and there’s girls everywhere lining up for the toilet,” she said. “Lindsay’s security take me into the toilet and there’s one cubicle that just says, ‘Do Not Use.’ It’s reserved for Lindsay.”

The security guard stood right outside the reserved cubicle and waited for Jackie O to finish her business. “I felt a bit stupid,” the radio host said.

After weeks of promotion, The Masked Singer will finally premiere tonight. The show will air on Mondays and Tuesdays each week with one of the 12 Masked Singer’s being revealed at the end of each episode.

So far Channel 10 has revealed that the list of the masked celebrities includes an ARIA Award winner, an MTV Award winner, a Logie Award winner, an Order of Australia winner, a World Cup winner and a Hall of Famer.

The costumes on The Masked Singer are elaborate to say the least.
