Dannii Minogue reveals which TV show she has refused to appear on ‘many times’

Dannii Minogue has been asked “many times” to appear on this popular TV show, but she always declines. Now she’s revealed why.

The Masked Singer Australia

Dannii Minogue has starred in a plethora of TV talent/reality shows, but there’s one in particular she refuses to appear on.

Minogue, who is one of the four celebrity panellists on The Masked Singer that premieres on Monday night on Ten, has opened up to news.com.au about the show she’ll never say yes to.

“I’ve been asked to be a contestant on a lot of shows and I’ve said no to some, and sometimes many times over,” Minogue said.

“I can tell you one of them, I’m a Celeb, both the Australian and the UK version.”

Minogue told news.com.au her refusal to appear on the show has nothing to do with the amount she has been offered in the past, but rather because of the environment and challenges she’d be subjected to.

“I’m not a camping girl,” she said. “I’m arachnophobic and I’m really awful when I’m hungry. It’s not for me.

“No one needs to see a hangry Minogue,” she joked. “No one needs to be subjected to that.”

Minogue’s not the only Aussie star who has turned down an offer to appear on I’m a Celeb. Earlier this year Kyle Sandilands revealed on KIIS FM that he was offered $1.2 million to head into the jungle.

“I just flat out went, ‘No way!’” he said on radio. He went on to explain that he rejected the offer because it was less than the $2 million Shane Warne got paid to appear on the reality show in 2016.

While Minogue has no desire to appear on I’m a Celeb, she told news.com.au that she jumped at the chance to appear on the Aussie version of The Masked Singer.

“It was a hell yes!” she said about receiving the offer. “I had seen the American version and loved it. I remember calling my manager and saying, ‘This show is awesome, you should check it out.’ I was even tracking the ratings to see how it went … but I wasn’t thinking I’d have anything to do with it, I was just a TV viewer.

“As soon as they asked if I wanted to do it here I was like, ‘Oh yes!’” she said.

Minogue joins Lindsay Lohan, Jackie O and Hughesy on the celebrity guessing panel as they attempt to decipher a series of clues and figure out the identities of the 12 masked singers.

The show has already been filmed and Minogue and her fellow co-stars have been sworn to secrecy about who the masked singers really are.

“We’re all finding it hard (to keep the secret) but Hughesy’s getting smashed with it on a daily basis,” Minogue told news.com.au. “His Hit Network office mates are obsessed!”

So far Channel 10 has revealed that the 12 celebrities will include an ARIA Award winner, an MTV Award winner, a Logie Award winner, an Order of Australia winner, a World Cup winner and a Hall of Farmer.

“Everyone will know them,” Minogue assured news.com.au about the star quality of the masked singers.
