The Bachelorette 2020: First look at Elly and Becky Miles in the upcoming season
Sisters Elly and Becky are the new double Bachelorettes. In this first look at the season, it’s a lot for one hopeful suitor to wrap his head around.
This Bachelorette season’s ‘two for the price of one’ gimmick is going to be a bit tricky for contestants to get their head around, if the first teaser for the season is anything to go by.
The teaser trailer shows Elly and Becky fronting up to the first night of the show – and some very confused looks from their hopeful suitors.
“We’re sisters … and we’re both Bachelorettes … two girls … looking for one guy each,” they explain to one nervous-looking contestant.
“One guy EACH? Oh, phew,” he says, looking into the camera, clearly nervous he was expected to enter into a throuple on national television:
Elly and Becky were unveiled as this year’s joint Bachelorettes in July.
The casting of the siblings, who are from Parkes in regional NSW, marks a world first for the global franchise.
“I crave a life filled with happiness, adventure and good times. I’m looking for my best mate to share those memories with,” Elly, 25, who works as a nurse, said of her search for love.
“I feel extremely blessed to be on this unique ride with Becky. Having her love, support and guidance throughout this journey is so important to me and I can’t wait to be there for her, on her journey to find love as well.”
Meanwhile, her fellow suitor and sister Becky, a 30-year-old defence contracting specialist, said she’s looking to find someone who will “go that extra mile, to have fun with, and be my best friend”.
“I’m so blessed to share this journey with my sister, and I am hopeful that we find our people together.”

Off the back of the news, radio host Ed Kavalee made a shock claim about Becky’s most recent relationship – telling Hughesy and Ed listeners that the soon-to-be reality star broke up with her partner just so she could appear on the reality show.
“The person that she was with found out she was doing this show from the press,” Kavalee said.
Asking for clarification, Hughesy said: “So he thought he was in a relationship with the older sister and he’s found out that he’s no longer in a relationship with her when he saw the press release that she was on The Bachelorette?”
“Yes,” Kavalee said.
The radio host said he was told by “people deep in reality TV” that it was the producers who came up with the unique twist for the upcoming season and they convinced the sisters to agree to it.
“Elly got in first (as the Bachelorette),” he said. “It’s then been brought up, ‘What about the sister? Let’s try.’
“So then behind the scenes she (Becky) gets across the line and then goes (to her boyfriend), ‘You’re out!’”
Kavalee claimed that Becky’s ex was “devastated” when he found out.

The dual Bachelorette announcement came after widespread reports circulated back in March that Dancing With The Stars judge Sharna Burgess was all but confirmed to be the next Bachelorette.
According to the US television personality, she was approached by Ten for the role, but turned it down.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Sharna revealed producers asked her to be the Australian Bachelorette prior to the pandemic.
She said she was “on the fence” about accepting, but ultimately turned them down given she lives in the US and it “didn’t feel right” doing the show in Australia.
“I was initially like, ‘Sure.’ I mean, that could be fun. And then as I got into it, there was something that didn’t feel right, which is odd because I love the show worldwide,” she said.
“For some reason, my instincts were saying, ‘Don’t do it,’ which was very bizarre. I’ve had to trust my instincts my whole life, they’ve led me to where I am now.”
She said she’d be more likely to accept the lead on the US instalment of the reality show.
