Bachelorette exes Darvid Garayeli and Brooke Blurton unfollow each other after split
After announcing their sudden split, Bachelorette exes Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli have given a clear sign that things aren’t amicable.
The Bachelorette’s Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli have hinted their split was not amicable, after unfollowing each other on social media.
Blurton, 27, has also wiped all recent photos of Garayeli from her Instagram page, only leaving up official photos from the Channel 10 dating show, which aired its finale just five weeks ago.
It comes after Garayeli, also 27, publicly announced his sudden split with Blurton on Sunday, with Blurton claiming he did so without her knowledge.
On Wednesday, Garayeli said he was “putting on a brave face” in the wake of their separation, taking to social media with a smiling selfie as he revealed he’d moved out of the Melbourne apartment he shared with Blurton.
“Back home with my loved ones. and my washing,” he said, referencing clothes hanging up in the background.
“Thanks for all the supportive messages, putting on a brave face.”
Interestingly, Blurton’s runner-up Jamie-Lee Dayz, who was left heartbroken after Garayeli received the final rose, commented on the photo with her support, writing: “You’ve got this” with a love heart emoji.
The former couple earlier showed signs the split was turning frosty, with Blurton accusing Garayeli of announcing their break-up without telling her.
“I just want to say right now I’m finding this really quite overwhelming and just as surprising to me as you guys,” she wrote in her own Instagram story.
“I just woke up to the news. It was definitely agreed to part ways. I just wanted to do it privately amicably and respectfully. This is not how and what I expected to be doing right now so as you can imagine, this is all a lot.”
The pair appeared blissfully happily only days earlier, with Garayeli posting a love-up photo on December 27 saying he was “missing” his girlfriend.
On December 10, he shared a selfie with Blurton with the caption, “How did I get so lucky.”
But on Monday, Garayeli informed his followers of their sudden separation.
“Starting the new year off with an end to a chapter and hopefully the beginning of another,” Garayeli wrote on his Instagram story.
“Unfortunately Brooke and I have parted ways. While we genuinely thought we were each others (sic) person, things change and that’s okay.
“Please respect our privacy and that at the end of the day we are both just people with feelings.”
Blurton broke in new ground as the first ever queer and Indigenous Bachelorette on the reality series last year, in which she picked Garayeli over Jamie-Lee.
She had earlier starred on Nick Cummins’ season of The Bachelor, before featuring on Bachelor in Paradise.
