The Bachelorette Episode 8 Recap: Doomsday

The identity of the man who allegedly stabbed a former Bachelorette contestant in the back at an Adelaide party has been revealed.

Abdul Kadws Mohammad Amin, 23, was charged with aggravated causing harm with intent after he allegedly stabbed Paddy Colliar at a 60th birthday party held at the Pole-4-Fitness pole dancing studio along Beafield Rd in Para Hills West on August 8.

The TV personality was working as a topless waiter at the private function.

At the time of Amin’s arrest, police allege he had an altercation with a woman at the party when Mr Colliar intervened and was stabbed with a knife as a result.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with a minor stab wound.

Mr Amin, from Semaphore, allegedly left the scene before police arrived but was found at a nearby service station a short time later and was arrested.

He was unrepresented when he appeared for the first time in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Friday.
Prosecutor Brevet Sergeant John Taliangis asked for the matter to be adjourned until April next year so the knife allegedly used in the attack could be forensic examined.

But magistrate John Fahey said the seven-month request was “too long”.

He told the defendant his next court appearance wouldn’t be that far away.

Mr Amin is due to reappear in February 2022.

After the incident, Mr Colliar took to social media thanking those who wished him well.

“Appreciate the messages guys I’m doing OK just lost a fair bit of blood and have broken ribs,” he posted.

“Lucky to still be here.”

After leaving the hospital, he again posted saying he was still in a lot of pain.

“But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger,” he wrote.

Mr Colliar appeared on Ali Oetjen’s season of The Bachelorette in 2018 and again on Bachelor in Paradise the following year.
