A former Bachelorette contestant has allegedly been stabbed at a party in Adelaide’s north.

Police arrested a man following the alleged assault at Para Hills West in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Emergency crews were called to a private function at a fitness studio on Beafield Rd, where about 30 people had gathered, just before 1.30am.

It is alleged the man was involved in an altercation with a woman before Mr Colliar intervened and was stabbed in the back.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with a minor stab wound.

Police said the man had already left by the time officers arrived, but he was arrested at a nearby petrol station a short time later.

“Police will also be investigating possible breaches of the Emergency Management Act directions,” SA Police said in a statement.

Mr Colliar, who appeared on 2018’s The Bachelorette and again on the Bachelor in Paradise the following year, thanked those who had sent him their well wishes.

“Appreciate the messages guys I’m doing OK just lost a fair bit of blood and have broken ribs,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Lucky to still be here.”

A 23-year-old from Semaphore has been charged with aggravated assault causing harm.

He was granted bail and will appear in court next month.
