During Wednesday night’s explosive episode, Matt Agnew received a tip-off from Mary Viturino that the 23-year-old was secretly chasing one of his male minders. The story was confirmed shortly afterwards when a different producer approached him and handed over a note with a number written on it and revealed it was Rachael’s.

Matt confronted Rachael about the note.

Spilling on the events that led to her being booted from the show, Rachael insisted to news.com.au that she’d actually had nothing to do with the note and had been set-up by producers.

She explained she’d been in a make-up chair and her “crush” was on a day off when the incident was alleged to have occurred.

“I think one of the girls might have tried to slip (the note) to a producer, but they got the wrong guy — I think they were trying to wingwoman me and it went a bit sour … but they had good intentions. I didn’t actually find out about the note until fairly recently,” Rachael said, before confirming Now To Love ’s report that the drama had largely been set-up.

“That’s what happened (as written in the report), pretty much — it was definitely a stretch of the truth. Obviously, the number was given out by the looks of things, but I didn’t give it out — and I was planning on leaving anyway.”

She went on to describe how she’d attempted to leave the show during the cocktail party the week prior, in the episode that aired last Thursday.

“I didn’t like Matt and I was over the drama I was sitting around watching, all day every day,” she told news.com.au.

“But when I asked everyone, ‘Where’s Matt? I have to tell him I’m going’, he left the cocktail party and went straight to the rose ceremony, so I didn’t have time … and then everyone was like, ‘stay, stay, stay’.”

Rachael also slammed Matt’s response to finding out she was interested in someone else, claiming it was “bulls**t”.

“I think it was a load of bulls**t on his behalf because I’d spent approximately 15 minutes all up talking to him, so I don’t think he was too upset,” she revealed.

“It’s what I said to him on the night — I said, ‘If you were actually interested in me you wouldn’t send someone on a second single date, and you would invite me to more group dates’ … I think he just didn’t really know what was going on.”

During the interview, Rachael also hit back at former Bachelor star Megan Marx, who is openly bisexual and made international headlines back in 2016 after entering into a same-sex relationship with fellow contestant Tiffany Scanlon.

Around the same time as photos emerged of Rachael kissing one of her co-stars from this season, Vakoo Kauapirura, Marx posted a cryptic message on Instagram about how much it “sucks” to see her sexuality made a joke of in mainstream media.

“As someone who has been courted many times by women that aren’t even into women, have lied about it, or are just there for a story, it really sucks to see some make a joke out of what has taken generations for the government and media to take seriously,” she wrote.

“Please, everyone, be who your are. Be honest about who you are.”

In response, Rachael told news.com.au she was irritated that “some random” would take a “sly dig” at her romance with Vakoo, which she denied was just for publicity.

“I don’t even know who (Megan) is. It’s annoying that some random would feel the need to comment on my relationship status when I don’t even know her, and neither does Vakoo.

“But it is what it is — people are just going to try and extend their time by riding off someone else, aren't they?”

The Bachelor continues tonight at 7.30pm on Ten.
