Vanessa Sunshine reveals moment we didn’t see during her jaw-dropping Bachelor exit

THIS season of The Bachelor has had plenty of fireworks, but there was one furious confrontation that was entirely cut from the show.

The Bachelor Episode 6 Recap: Camping Chaos

VANESSA Sunshine has revealed the truth about her infamously cold exit from The Bachelor.

The legal secretary, 27, won herself legions of fans during Thursday night’s episode as she stared blankly ahead after being told she was leaving the show, refusing to even look at the five other women standing beside her while Osher Gunsberg gently suggested she say her “goodbyes.”

“Say goodbye!”.. “No.”
“Say goodbye!”.. “No.”

Simply put: it was glorious.

But not everything was as it seemed. Speaking to news.com.au, Vanessa explained that there was one crucial moment that was cut from the episode.

“I did stand there for a couple of seconds, then I walked up to Nick and said, ‘you know, I hope you find whoever and whatever it is you’re looking for’,” she said, adding that her send-off with the others wasn’t shown.

“I then did say goodbye to all the girls, and hugged them all … except Romy [Poulier]. Then I walked off.”

Her decision to ignore Romy is hardly surprising, given that the pair were sniping at each other during the entire season, and Vanessa’s exit may have been caused by her rival going to Nick ‘Honey Badger' Cummins behind her back and telling him Vanessa didn’t find him attractive.

Vanessa also spilt on the explosive confrontation she had with Romy after finding out she’d been badmouthing her to Nick’s sister Bernadette, during the same conversation in which she called Cassandra Wood “desperate.”

But neither the nasty comments or their subsequent blow-up were shown on TV.

“Romy and I actually had a confrontation at a cocktail party… When she spoke about Cass, she actually said some things about me and another girl,” she told news.com.au.

She added that viewers had seen only “a very small fraction” of the “bullying” behaviour of Romy and her friends in the Bachelor mansion.

Alisha and Romy are just “bullies”, claims Vanessa.

“I was realistic going in there, I didn’t think everyone was going to get along and be friends,” Vanessa said.

“But to me, their behaviour is disgusting. The way I see Cat, Romy and Alisha’s behaviour is that they get their self-worth, self-confidence from bullying and berating other people.

“And that’s what it is at the end of the day — it’s bullying. Even if I didn’t like someone, I’d never go out of my way to belittle them as a human or attack their physical attributes.”

Speaking of Nick’s decision to keep all three of those girls in the competition, while giving her the boot, Vanessa was diplomatic: “I get it, it’s Nick’s journey. It’s not just about me. I really was OK with it — he’s not the person for me, and I’m not the person for him.”

The Bachelor airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on Ten.
