The Bachelors Australia premiere: Tilly’s wild dress at first party

A lot’s changed on The Bachelor this season, but one thing remains the same: Contestants vying for attention in dresses that defy the laws of physics.

New Bachelor suffers brutal rejection

A lot’s changed in this season of The Bachelor: A new Gold Coast setting, three new Bachies instead of one, and a brutal new speed-dating format to kick things off.

But by the end of Monday’s premiere, one familiar Bach trope made an appearance: Namely, a booze-fuelled welcome party in the Bach pad where at least one contestant vied for attention in a very revealing dress.

Contestant Tilly, 24, seemed permanently moments away from a major wardrobe malfunction in the blue two-piece outfit she wore to the first party of the season, where she and the rest of the contestants competed to grab the attention of the three Bachelors.

Earlier, Tilly had gone on a dream mini-date with her Bachelor, Felix, where sparks were obvious between the pair as they played a flirty game of cricket.

But she’s got some competition from his other chosen contestants – not least the very forward Jessica, whose mini-date with him was a near-pornographic body painting session:

The “mini-dates” made for a surprisingly brutal opening twist to this new season, as all three Bachelors went on a seemingly endless series of meet-ups with women selected by producers as potential love matches.

With only 10 roses each to hand out, it made for some very awkward rejections.

Youngest Bach Jed was the worst offender, leaving many a girl hanging when he bailed on date after date without handing out a rose, leaving the girls stunned that their Bachelor journey had come to an end so abruptly.

But there were even more tense scenes when the tables were turned and one potential contestant rejected Jed’s rose, explaining that after their brief meeting she thought they’d be better off “as friends”.

“Does she not think I’m hot? What a bash to the ego,” he fumed to a producer outside.

“It was brutal, absolutely brutal. I thought I was the one making those decisions … but apparently not.
