The Bachelor finale: Locky slammed for saying he loves both Bella and Irena
Fans and even a former Bach winner were left fuming about one jaw-dropping move from Locky in last night’s Bachelor finale.
Just when it seem 2020 couldn‘t get any more chaotic, The Bachelor served us the most crazy finale since the Honey Badger.
While Locky picked bookies‘ favourite Irena, he broke the cardinal rule of the Bachelor franchise – telling both the Melbourne nurse and runner-up Bella he loved them.
It‘s a first for the show – with past Bachelors and Bachelorettes saving their declarations of love for the when they pick the winner.
But Locky threw the rule book out the window before the final decision, telling Irena he had “fallen in love” with her during their final date in the jacuzzi.

“I’m falling in love with you,“ Locky also told Bella on their final date (although it‘s worth noting he had told Irena he had “fallen” for her).
The move took viewers by surprise, with many taking to Twitter to argue Locky had “broken the rules” by sharing his feelings with both girls, thereby setting one up for an unexpected dumping.
Even former Bachelor winner Laura Byrne agreed, posting on Instagram: “What the hell is going on!!!! You can’t say I love you!!!!

Anyone else feel like maybe Lockie broke the rules and told Irena that he loves her, then the producers had to scramble and made him tell Bela too? #TheBachelorAU

Umm isn't that breaking the bachie rules?ð¤#TheBachelorAU

âIâm in love with both of themâ is the ultimate fuc boi line. If he loves you, he loves YOU. True love doesnât include another person. *Lust* does, and thatâs all fuc bois think about. âFalling in love with two womenâ isnât a romantic tragedy. Itâs a player. #thebachelorau

It was no surprise then when a confident Bella appeared blindsided by Locky‘s decision to chose Irena during the final decision.
“This is it?” she told Locky as he dumped her. “I just don’t get it. Yesterday, you told me you were in love with me.”
To be fair, Locky seemed pretty upset while making the decision, breaking down in tears after telling Bella he was picking Irena.
But plenty of viewers were on Bella’s side, saying it had been unfair of him to say he was falling in love with her, only to dump her less than 24 hours later.
EVERYONE SHOULD FEEL BAD FOR both IRENA and BELLA!

One gets dumped after receiving a love confession, the other has to watch him be in love and confess love to someone else.
This is MESS.#TheBachelorAU pic.twitter.com/qhVPxFL619
Okay so Irena wins right cos Locky said âIâve fallen in love with youâ to Irena and âIâm falling in love with youâ to Bella ð #TheBachelorAU

Donât tell someone you love them just to dump them for the other person you also told you love. Love is much more bigger then that. #TheBachelorAU #TeamBella

As happy as I am that Locky chose Irena over Bella, I admire Bellaâs honesty. I would absolutely have done and said the same thing. What more do you have to say to the person who said âI love youâ to you the day before? anyway It was fun! #thebachelorau

Wouldnât it be strange as the winner to watch the show and realise the he said I love you to another women and everything he said?! ð¤·ð¼ââï¸ #TheBachelorAU

he shouldnât have told either of them that he loved them until he made up his mind. hurting Bella like that was completely unnecessary. #TheBachelorAU pic.twitter.com/pXhbPiOkN5

Bella admitted on Instagram she had been blindsided by Locky’s decision not to pick her, writing that she had “believed him and trusted him whole heartedly” when he said he was falling for her.
“Looking back; I’m proud of myself. I gave it my all, I was true to myself and I wore my heart on my sleeve,” Bella said.
“Whilst it’s not my fairytale ending, the laughs and the memories will last a lifetime.”
