SAS Australia instructor Ollie Ollerton opens up about James Bond-themed wedding
Helicopters, parachutes, motorbikes and tuxedos … SAS Australia instructor Ollie Ollerton had one heck of a wedding planned before COVID.
SAS Australia instructor Ollie Ollerton has opened up about his James Bond-themed wedding plans.
Ollerton was meant to tie the knot with his fiancee Laura Gander in July, but the nuptials were called off due to the pandemic.
Speaking to news.com.au, the SAS Australia star revealed what they had planned for the big day.
“The theme was ‘Bond, Babes and Villains,’” Ollerton said. “I was gonna free fall into the wedding from a plane. We had Aston Martin’s on standby to pick me up and take me into the wedding to a certain point. Then, for the final leg, I was going to get onto my 1971 classic cafe racer (motorbike) and ride in to meet my bride.”

Ollerton wasn’t the only one who was going to make a dramatic entrance.
“I had a helicopter which my fiance was going to arrive in,” he told news.com.au.
Ollerton said he was “gutted” that the wedding had to be called off, and isn’t sure if they’ll stick with the Bond theme when they eventually do get married.
“We’re looking at different options,” he said. “We’re in no rush. We’ve been together a while now so we will be going to the altar at some point.
“If we went away and got married somewhere on our own and then came back and had a big party, that might have to be the scenario (due to COVID-19).”
Ollerton and Gander got engaged on New Year’s Eve with the former soldier sharing the news on Twitter.

Ollerton is one of the four instructors, knows as ‘directing staff’, on Channel 7’s SAS Australia.
He recently revealed to news.com.au which three Aussie celebrities from the show whose efforts he was most disappointed in, naming Eden Dally, Arabella Del Busso and Roxy Jacenko.
His comments seemingly came as a surprise to Jacenko, who took to Instagram on the weekend and shared a screenshot of a conversation she had with Ollerton following her departure, in which he said she should be “proud” of her efforts.
“Be proud, people have no idea what the reality is like, amplified by injury x,” Ollerton wrote to the businesswoman in one message, referring to the injury she disclosed to followers after she quit the show.
