KIIS FM radio star Jackie O has revealed which Aussie celebrity turned down an offer to appear on SAS Australia.

Speaking on air this morning, Jackie O said her friend and 2020 Masked Singer contestant Sophie Monk was offered to join the Channel 7 show.

The radio star then revealed how casting producers underplayed the brutal nature of the reality show in an attempt to get Monk to say yes.

“She was asked to go on it and she said that they said, basically, all it is if you can run 3km and do this, you’ll be fine,” the radio host said. “That’s pretty much the brief you’re given. You are not told everything else that’s going into this show.”

There was no mention of the fact that as a contestant Monk would be forced to fall out of a helicopter backwards while hovering above the water (which all contestants were subjected to in episode one) or would have her most embarrassing personal and career moments brought up during an interrogation by the show’s instructors (read: Candice Warner being grilled about her toilet tryst).

Jackie O’s revelation about Monk follows a report in the Daily Mail that former Married At First Sight contestants Ines Basic and Jessika Power were both considered by SAS Australia casting producers.

The 17 celebrities who said yes to appearing on the show are: Ali Oetjen, Arabella Del Busso, Candice Warner, Eden Dally, Erin McNaught, Firass Dirani, Jackson Warne, James Magnussen, Merrick Watts, Mitchell Johnson, Molly Taylor, Nick Cummins, Roxy Jacenko, Sabrina Frederick, Schapelle Corby, Shannan Ponton and Shayna Jack.

So far four of those celebs have quit the show: Del Busso, Jacenko, Corby and Johnson.
