Controversial former Married At First Sight Australia star Beck Zemek has updated her fans with some happy news: She’s expecting her first child with boyfriend Ben Michell.

Perth business manager Beck, 28, found reality TV fame on the most recent season of MAFS – but she didn’t find love, when her TV wedding to Jake Edwards didn’t turn into a lasting relationship.

Their union turned sour when it was revealed that Beck, who returned to her hometown during filming of the show to care for her sick dog, also hooked up with another man while she was there.

But by April of this year she had moved on with her new beau – and the loved-up pair are now starting a family.

“The secret is out. Ben and I are over the moon to finally announce we are expecting a bundle of joy in May 2022!” Zemek captioned an Instagram post, featuring a selection of stunning beachside photos of the pair together, her baby bump clearly visible.

“Thankyou to everyone who has kept this a secret for such a long time!!! Also for all the wonderful support over the last few months, it truly means the world to us.

“Who knew the best was yet to come, this is such a miracle for us and we are already over filled with love for you little one.”

A slew of reality stars have flooded Beck’s announcement with messages of congratulations, among them fellow MAFS contestants James Susler and Beth Moore, Bachelor contestant Laura Calleri and Big Brother’s Heidi Anderson.

Beck will next be seen on the 2022 season of Celebrity Apprentice Australia, where she’s been billed as MAFS’ “most controversial bride”.

Meanwhile, another former MAFS star has been forced to defend his parenting after becoming embroiled in an ugly public punch-up over the weekend.

During the Whatever It Takes fighting event in Melbourne on Friday evening, Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson, who welcomed twin boys in October, were involved in a fiery scuffle with former co-star Sam Carraro.

Ruthven has since responded to suggestions the parents shouldn’t have been out socialising so close to the birth of their twins, particularly amid growing concerns of the Omicron variant.

Their twins, Levi and Tate Ruthven, were born 10 weeks premature and were only recently discharged from hospital.

“We’re allowed to have a night out to go and celebrate Christmas like anyone else is doing for work parties or with their friends,” Ruthven told his Instagram followers after the event.
