Kris Jenner ended KUWTK before Kanye West could damage it further

The Kar-Jenner matriarch reportedly had the reality show canned because one family member has become too much of a ‘loose cannon’.

Kris Jenner “pulled the plug” on Keeping Up With The Kardashians over fears Kanye West was causing “irreversible damage” to their brand, The Sun reports.

Family sources close to the matriarch told the publication she had “had enough” of her daughter Kim Kardashian’s unpredictable husband.

The insider claimed the rapper had “tried to constantly fight with Kris over production and the direction that the show is going”.

But headstrong Kris “was not about to let anybody take the reins”.

In recent months, Kanye battled a public mental health breakdown and shocked fans by sharing intimate details of his marriage and family life.

The source admitted that his behaviour had become “uncontrollable,” and Kris knew she ”needed to pull the plug before he does irreversible damage to her brand.”

“He’s become a loose cannon and she cannot tolerate it anymore”.

A separate source close to the family insisted this is “absolutely false”.

In July, Kanye called mother-in-law Kris a “white supremacist” and “Kris Jong-un” in a series of tweets, and claimed he had previously tried to divorce Kim.

It came after a campaign rally for his presidential bid in July where he wept as he revealed Kim had almost aborted their eldest daughter North.

Though he apologised for his comments, he later doubled down and repeated the abortion story on Nick Cannon’s podcast.

The rapper shares 7-year-old North, 4-year-old Saint, 2-year-old Chicago and 1-year-old Psalm with wife Kim.

KUWTK COMING TO AN END

Yesterday, Kim Kardashian publicly announced she and her family have made the “difficult decision” to say goodbye to the reality show that made them household names.

“It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” the reality star and beauty mogul announced on Instagram, following months of intense scrutiny about her turbulent marriage to the rapper-turned-Presidential hopeful.

“After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”

Kardashian thanked the “thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience,” and reveals that the final season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians will air early next year. The latest season, filmed during the coronavirus pandemic, will hit Binge on September 18.

“Without Keeping Up with The Kardashians, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years. This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever,” she wrote.

KIM AND KANYE’S VERY PUBLIC TURMOIL

The family’s surprise decision to ditch the reality show that made them stars came after increased attention on the tumultuous relationship between Kim and Kanye.

The rapper is continuing his bizarre bid to run for President during the November US elections, and in July slammed his wife and her family on social media, accusing Kim and Kris Jenner of trying to “lock him up”.

After the series of shocking tweets, Kim released a statement in July in which she defended her husband and made mention of his bipolar disorder.

“Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” she wrote.

“I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health.

“Those that understand mental illness or compulsive behaviour know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor,” she went on.

“People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard the family try.”
