Perez Hilton slams Kanye West’s Sunday Service, calling it a ‘tax shelter’

Perez Hilton has let his mouth run and eyes roll over Kanye West’s brand new “ultra-religiousness” around the I’m A Celeb campsite.

Perez Hilton slams Kanye West

Previously unaired footage from I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! sees gossip guru Perez Hilton absolutely rip into Kanye West, suggesting his latest venture is nothing but a “tax shelter”.

Speaking to his campmates, the US blogger didn’t hold back when discussing the controversial husband of Kim Kardashian, suggesting his political and religious interests are all for attention.

Discussing the Sunday Service Choir and its weekly performances led by the rapper and producer, Perez inferred he didn’t think Kanye had a genuine interest in religion.

The weekly church gatherings began shortly after Kanye West’s album Jesus Is King was announced in January 2019.

According to Variety, the service has been held on Kanye’s property in Calabasas, in Burbank, and Los Angeles, with reports he’s planning on taking the live show on a “global” tour in 2020.

“He calls it Sunday service … it’s very exclusive,” Perez said, rolling his eyes as recent evictee Tom Williams and remaining contender Myf Warhurst listened intently.

“Although he does take it around and he’s performed in prisons and things like that.

“ … The cynic in me thinks he’s just trying to set this up to be a tax shelter for his money,” he added.

Speaking directly to the camera in the Tok Tokkie, he elaborated: “I know Kanye, I’ve met him many times, he performed at one of my parties.”

He went on to comment on Kanye’s noted – and rather bizarre – interest in running for US President.

“I think that Kanye may run for president just like Donald Trump did, for attention,” he said.

“If Kanye ran for president, for some crazy reason think he would do a better job than Donald Trump.”

Perez further spilt that Kanye’s “ultra-religiousness” whether a front or not, has impacted his home life – and, in turn, Kim Kardashian’s career.

“Kanye is different person today and his new found ultra-religiousness has changed the kind of husband and father he is, to the point that Kanye has told Kim his wife he doesn’t want her to be Kim Kardashian anymore. Kanye doesn’t like Kim wearing revealing outfits,” he said, referencing the infamous argument Kim and Kanye had over her daring wet-look Met Gala 2019 gown, which aired on Keeping Up With the Kardashians last year.

“That’s why Kylie Jenner surpassed Kim in followers,” he added.

He also claimed that Kanye and Kim have argued about Kim’s parenting style, particularly her exposing daughter North West to makeup at an early age.

“They got in a disagreement how they parent,” Perez said.

“North West was playing with makeup and Kanye said no more.

“I support that. I don’t like my daughter to play with makeup and she’s four.”

I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! airs tonight at 7.30pm on Ten.
