Rhonda Burchmore calls Nicole Kidman a ‘diva’ on I’m a Celeb

Rhonda Burchmore has slammed megastar Nicole Kidman, describing her off-screen antics as diva-like.

Rhonda Burchmore has made her opinion of Nicole Kidman known.

And it seems she wasn’t impressed by Kidman’s “diva-like” backstage antics on the set of the film Australia.

Chatting around the campsite with her fellow I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! contestants tonight, the entertainer did her best to keep her opinion of the Big Little Lies star to herself – struggling to keep a straight face when asked what she’s really like.

Explaining that she knew Kidman when they were both at acting school together, international reality star Charlotte Crosby pressed her for details.

But while Burchmore did her best to remain diplomatic, she eventually caved – recalling Kidman being full of complaints on the set of the 2008 Baz Lurhman film.

“What was she like?,” Crosby asked Burchmore of the star.

“Beautiful,” Burchmore responded.

“A lovely person?,” Crosby pressed.

“She was beautiful,” Burchmore repeated, attempting to avoid the question, before spilling: “She was doing the movie Australia … (And) she would complain about the cows and the blow flies.

(She’d say) ‘Someone make those cows stop mooing’,” she recalled, dramatically imitating the star.

“So she’s a diva,” Crosby asked, as Burchmore nodded in agreeance.

“Flat out,” she concluded.

Shortly after the shady conversation, Burchmore – whose Hollywood tales have kept the stars thoroughly entertained during their days in the jungle – recalled meeting Meryl Streep and Benny and Bjorn from ABBA.

She also set tongues wagging with her story about a night shared with British hunk Colin Firth.

“I had the most beautiful evening with Colin Firth,” she told the awe-stricken celebs.

“He’s lovely,” she said.

“We drank, we laughed … We …,” she said, trailing off with a knowing grin to laughter from the campmates.

“She didn’t deny it,” said MAFS star Ryan Gallagher.

Tonight wasn’t the first time Nicole’s diva-like antics have been discussed around the I’m a Celeb campsite.

In 2018, Kerry Armstrong told her wide-eyed campmates that she experienced an awkward run-in with the star at the 2001 AACTA Awards when both actors were up against each other for the ‘Best Actress’ award.

Nicole’s close friend and fellow actor Russell Crowe was presenting the honour.

But according to Kerry, when her name was called instead of Nicole’s, the Bombshell actor promptly stormed out of the room.

“Russell Crowe said ‘I am here to announce best actress, there’s four really wonderful ladies, you know I’ve got a bit of bias going on so I have come all this way to announce best actress’,” Kerry said, explaining that Crowe was expecting to hand the award to Nicole.

“I went up on stage and Russell Crowe was visibly unimpressed,” Kerry said, describing that there was “a lot of commotion’ coming from the other side of the room from where Nicole had left from.
