‘What are you talking about?’ Kim Kardashian and Kanye West fight over her ‘too sexy’ dress
It was one of the most talked-about dresses at the Met Gala. But Kim Kardashian’s Mugler ‘naked’ dress caused a huge row with her husband, Kanye West.
He famously reinvented his wife’s personal style and now, it appears Kanye West thinks Kim Kardashian dresses “too sexy”.
Ahead of the Met Gala, Kardashian’s skin-tight Thierry Mugler dress caused a major fight with her rapper husband West, leaving Kardashian with severe anxiety before the couple attended Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour’s annual Costume Institute benefit.
It started as Kardashian, 38, was in a fitting for her wet-look custom outfit by Mugler, which featured a cinched-in nude-coloured corset underneath.
Jesus Is King rapper West, 42, was clearly not impressed by the revealing design. “I just made this transition from being a rapper, looking at all these girls, looking at my wife,” West said, in the rant which aired on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “Like, ‘Oh, my girl needs to be like the other girls, showing her body off.’”

And West didn’t stop there. “I didn’t realise that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and loved, and the father of now, what — about to be four kids?”
“A corset is like a form of underwear,” West said. “It’s hot. It’s like, it’s hot for who, though?”
An infuriated Kardashian was clearly not impressed, accusing West of being “negative”. “So the night before the Met, you’re gonna come in here and say that you’re not into a corset bust?” Kardashian said.
“I’m getting really bad anxiety. What are you talking about? I don’t need any more negative energy for you to now say that you’re not into me in a tight dress.”
West said he was conflicted about his wife’s provocative image, despite overhauling Kardashian’s wardrobe when they started dating. “You are my wife, and it affects me when pictures are too sexy,” West said.
The KKW Beauty mogul appeared genuinely confused. “You built me up to be this sexy person and confidence and all this stuff,” Kardashian said.
“And just because you’re on a journey and you’re on a transformation doesn’t mean that I’m in the same spot with you,” she said, before West walked out of the conversation.
“That’s absolutely ridiculous,” Kardashian said.
Kardashian and West were among the guests at this year’s VVVIP gala, themed around “Camp: Notes on Fashion”.
The “camp” theme was based on Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay “Notes on Camp”, with US Vogue describing it as a “feather and flounce-filled fantasia”.
