Eden Dally describes living conditions on SAS: ‘You’re shivering on ice’

The former Love Island star explains how the living conditions on SAS Australia were even worse than what we saw on TV.

Eden Dally is one of the 17 celebrity recruits who signed up for SAS Australia on Channel 7.

The star who came to attention on Love Island Australia described the dire living conditions they were forced into on SAS.

While chatting to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, the 28-year-old explained how there were no retakes or producers guiding them through the challenges.

“Everything is as crazy as seen on TV,” he said. “This show has no producers coming over and telling you anything. It’s basically the [directing staff] that are running the course. There are no retakes and basically everything that you’re seeing happening is what happened,” Dally said.

Dally explained how they were forced to wash themselves in a sink as there were no showers, and had to brush their teeth outside in the freezing cold.

He also said that they often weren’t allowed to speak to one another.

“Once the fire goes out in the middle of the night, you are shivering on ice. It’s physically and mentally draining. We all knew what we were signing up for - including becoming injured or getting hypothermia - but when you get there it really does hit you as a big shock,” he said.

Some of the crazy tasks we have seen so far include the recruits falling out of helicopters and practising marksmanship.

“As a first-time father it was my biggest challenge missing my family... I was really hurting inside and was definitely missing Cyrell and Boston,” Eden said.

Eden has been dating Married At First Sight star Cyrell Paule since March 2019. The pair share eight-month-old son Boston, who was born on February 9, 2020.

“I’m getting nervous re-watching it, and I was there!” Dally said.

So far, we haven’t seen much of Dally on the show, but one contestant we have seen a lot of is actor Firass Dirani, who has constantly been reprimanded by the directing staff.

While he claimed he had been “edited” as the ‘villain’ on the show, one of the SAS directing staff Mark “Billy” Billingham dismissed Dirani’s claim to news.com.au .

According to Billingham, Dirani “came across as arrogant” and “had a terrible attitude”.

“It came to the point where the rest of the celebrities were getting really fed up with him. That’s not a showpiece – he really was messing up all the time and he could not keep his mouth shut, no matter what you said to him.”

Billingham told news.com.au that Dirani “drew attention to himself for all the wrong reasons” and said the House Husbands star would constantly roll his eyes when being interviewed by the SAS Australia instructors.

“They’ve more than fairly edited him to be honest because he was a pain in the arse,” Billingham said. “I mean, he’s a nice guy, don’t get me wrong … but he’s not a personality that you’d want to go out drinking with to be honest. He’s a bit of a pain.”

Dirani angered chief instructor Ant Middleton in each of the episodes of SAS Australia that have aired so far.

On two occasions the whole group of celebrities were punished after Dirani went against the instructors’ directions or made disrespectful comments.

Those punishments proved too much for Schapelle Corby and Roxy Jacenko who both quit the show as a result.
