Bachelor favourite Olena Khamula spills on why she had trust issues with Richie

OLENA was constantly accused of “holding back” on The Bachelor, but we never really got her side of the story until now.

OLENA Khamula’s the dark horse who gave nothing away all season on The Bachelor, before sensationally calling out Richie’s BS and being given her marching orders on last night’s jaw-dropping episode.

And now she’s out of her shell, she’s not looking to crawl back in any time soon — saying she realised after the hometown visits that the 31-year-old rope access technician may be living in a fantasy world.

“I was straight up to him — I was like ‘here are my concerns and I want you to answer them. How are we going to work this out? Forget about all these pretty things, Bali, jet skis, all that jazz ... and what’s it going to be like when it’s just you and me in the suburbs somewhere?’” the 23-year-old Ukrainian beauty told news.com.au.

“I was just being realistic about the whole thing.”

It all came to a head last night when Olena began questioning how their relationship could actually work — given she lives in Sydney and he lives in Perth — before labelling it all a “huge mess.”

“I see that as a huge mess for me,” she said.

“It’s travelling back and forwards for a relationship — like, is that going to last?”

Olena hits Richie with some Real Talk.

It got more heated over dinner when she brought up her family.

“Going into the home towns, sitting with my family and talking to them, made me question things so much more,” she told him.

“As to (whether) you were living in a fairytale — this is the real sh*t. Be realistic about things — about the relationship, not about you. You’re a great guy but there’s more issues and more concerns and more things to think about.”

It certainly looked as though she was forcing him to break up with her, but Olena says it was more about finally getting some honest answers.

“I wouldn’t say I wanted him to dump me, I wanted to find out the truth,” she said.

“I wanted to get the truth out of him. I really feel like if you have three girls there, you know who you love, and I knew it wasn’t me.”

Safe to say she wasn’t impressed with his vague, awkward answers.

“My facial expressions were just like — ‘what is this guy even saying?’” she explained.

Unsurprisingly, she was given her marching orders during the rose ceremony, leaving Nikki Gogan and Alex Nation as the last two in the running.

Olena’s departure means it’s now down to just Alex (middle) and Nikki (right).

Throughout the series, the makeup artist was often accused by Richie of holding back her true feelings during their dates, but she says she was actually just a bit suspicious.

“I feel like the conversations were a bit pushed, instead of really seeming genuine. And I was always trying to figure out — is he being genuine or is he lying to me?” she explained.

“I was trying to figure stuff out ... I just didn’t really see it working. I didn’t believe him — I didn’t believe the things he had to say.”

Richie seemed pretty captivated by Olena on their solo dates on The Bachelor.

Olena also pointed to the real reason she didn’t say all that much when it was just the two of them.

“He never really asked me any questions. There wasn’t really anything there. I think I gave him a lot ... I don’t think I was getting the same.”

Meanwhile, it certainly doesn’t seem as though Olena has wasted any time pining over Richie.

Earlier this week, she was photographed looking very cosy with former tennis pro Nick Lindahl — though she insists he’s not her beau.

Olena insists her and Nick aren’t a couple. Hmmm.....

“He’s just a friend ... he’s my sister’s fulltime tennis coach,” she claimed.

“I have been on dates with someone — it’s not him.”

The Bachelor finale airs tonight at 7.30pm AEST on Channel Ten.
