Zac Efron texts Kyle Sandilands on-air after radio show aired sex rumour
The Hollywood megastar was a hot topic on Sydney radio with a wild rumour about his sex life. It turns out he was listening – and set the record straight in a text to Kyle Sandilands.
Zac Efron texted Kyle Sandilands while the radio host was on-air discussing a wild sex story involving the Hollywood megastar.
The 35-year-old High School Musical alum, who is currently filming a movie in Melbourne, was listening to KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show when the Sydney co-hosts aired a rumour about Efron’s sex life.
Podcast host Perrie Kap first revealed the salacious story on her podcastThis One Friend this week - saying her unnamed friend enjoyed a romance with Efron, before spilling on the actor’s alleged enthusiasm for giving oral sex.
Jackie ‘O’ Henderson played audio from the podcast on their radio show this week, with Sandilands, 51, backing Efron for “being a real man” and “taking care of his woman”.
Sandilands, who has enjoyed an unlikely friendship with The Greatest Showman actor since his months-long trip to Australia back in 2020, said Efron was listening to the show and texted him after hearing the story.
“Remember the other day you were playing some podcast chick telling everyone about how Zac Efron loves going down on girls?” Sandilands said to Henderson on Thursday’s show.
“Well Zac is in Melbourne and he was listening to us on the app and I got a text afterwards from him saying, ‘Thanks for having my back, bro.’
“Apparently I said, ‘A real man takes care of his woman’.”
Efron famously dated Byron Bay waitress Vanessa Valladares after relocating to the northern NSW hotspot during the Covid pandemic from late 2020, into 2021.
It was widely reported Efron met the local beauty in June 2020 while she was working at the Byron Bay General Store.
In the months that followed, the aspiring model was continuously photographed by the actor’s side as the duo travelled around Australia while he worked on projects including the movie Gold, which was shot in Adelaide, and the Netflix documentary series Down to Earth with Zac Efron.
The couple eventually split in April 2021.
Meanwhile, Efron was seen arriving at Melbourne Airport on a Qantas flight from Los Angeles in late January.
The Australian city will be his home over the next two months as he films R-rated comedy Ricky Stanicky with co-star John Cena, who will play the movie’s titular role.
The film is written and directed by Peter Farrelly, who was behind smash hit comedies There’s Something About Mary and Me, Myself and Irene.
There’s been no further sightings of Efron, but it appears he’s been laying low and tuning into Kyle and Jackie O in his spare time.
