Abbie Chatfield has hit out at Kyle Sandilands for “deeply upsetting” comments he made about her on-air.

The 27-year-old former Bachelor star turned radio host slammed the KIIS FM veteran, 51, and his temporary co-host Brittany Hockley for making “sexist” remarks during their interview with Chatfield’s love interest, US rapper Yung Gravy, on the Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Gravy, 26, told Sandilands and Hockley he had asked Chatfield on a date after appearing on her podcast, to which the shock jock responded: “You and everyone else. Line up, my friend. Line up.”

“We have a date planned,” Gravy added, to which Hockley said, “I have no doubt.”

Taking to her It’s A Lot podcast, Chatfield said she was “incredibly disappointed to hear Kyle and Brittany sl*t-shame me on breakfast radio.”

Hockley has apologised to Chatfield in a lengthy Instagram post.

“I listened to the segment because a friend of mine said I was mentioned, and discovered a conversation that is not only sexist, and deeply upsetting, but also not even funny? This ‘joke’, echoed throughout the entire interview, is the lowest hanging fruit,” Chatfield said.

“The issue I think that people like Kyle and Brittany have with me is that I’m able to speak about sexuality in a way that isn’t shameful and they think that that must equate to f***ing around every single day, and having sex every single day.

“Actually, it’s just the shame they have [about sexuality and sensuality] and therefore, they’re projecting it on to me.

“Kyle, you have no idea about my sexual habits unless you listen to the podcast.

“It’s high school weird sh*t and it’s also like, encouraging women to pit themselves against each other.”

Chatfield also singled out Hockley, a fellow Bachelor star, for being complicit in the moment.

“At best, I think Britt is feeling uncomfortable and is nervous about being with Kyle and is going along with it,” Chatfield said.

“At worst, she’s having this weird jealousy thing and trying to bring me down.”

Hockley has since penned a lengthy Instagram apology to Chatfield, in which she noted the “undercurrent misogynistic tones”, explaining that she “thought by saying as little as possible in the interview it would not add any fire to the situation”.

“I see this was naive and contradictory to what I stand for,” Hockley added, revealing that she and Chatfield have spoken about the incident.

It’s not the first time Chatfield has been critical of Sandilands.

In October she told Daily Telegraph she was “baffled” by how he manages to keep his high-paying gig.

The Masked Singer Australia judge questioned why radio bosses are yet to reprimand Sandilands for his controversial comments on-air.

“I have no idea [how Sandilands hasn’t been cancelled],” Chatfield had told the publication.

“I don’t know why he’s not at least being reprimanded. I don’t know why advertisers still align.

“It’s as baffling to me as it is to everyone else. I don’t know how he can continue.”

Chatfield, who also hosts Hit Network’s Hot Nights With Abbie, was referencing Sandilands’ controversial monkeypox comments in August, in which he described the virus as “the big gay disease floating around”.

She later took to Instagram to say she was “worried” about Sandilands’ response to her interview.

“To be honest, I‘m not looking forward to what he’s going to say on the radio show, or what he’s going to do,” she said.

However, Sandilands addressed Chatfield’s comments a few days later, insisting there was no ill will and that he “respects” the up-and-coming personality.

“We’ve had her on this show. She’s a nice kid,” Sandilands said at the time.
