Halsey is baring all on her new album cover for a powerful reason.

The pregnant singer today announced that her upcoming concept album, produced by Oscar-winning producers and Nine Inch Nail rockers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will be released on August 27.

Along with the album release date, the passionate 26-year-old activist shared a glimpse of the bold cover art with fans, which she said “conveyed the sentiment of her journey”. The star announced her first pregnancy with screenwriter Alev Aydin in January, after she suffered several miscarriages due to endometriosis.

In 2018, she told The Doctors of her traumatic experience, “I was on tour, and I found out I was pregnant.

“Before I could really figure out what that meant to me and what that meant for my future … the next thing I knew I was on stage miscarrying in the middle of my concert.”

The singer has been open about her struggle with endometriosis, which can cause infertility in some women. Now, she’s sharing her journey with the world, explaining her new album has been created as an ode to the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth.

“This cover image celebrates pregnant and post-partum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired,” she said in a statement, available in full on her Instagram.

“We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies & breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!”

It comes after fans took to social media to share that numerous billboards have been plastered in major cities announcing a new album, with Halsey confirming on June 28 that If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power is its official title.

In a short teaser released at the time, Halsey revealed it will be a punk rock album as opposed to her previous pop earworms.

The album comes amid a fulfilling time in the signer’s personal life, having been sharing pregnancy updates with fans on social media.

In March, Halsey also updated her social profile pronouns to “she/they” (typically meaning that a person is comfortable being referred to using ”she/her” or ”they/them” pronouns interchangeably).

She’s been keeping busy in her work life, too. Since releasing her last album Manic, Halsey has popped up on singles with several artists, including country singer Kelsea Ballerini (The Other Girl), Juice WRLD (Life’s a Mess) and Megan Fox’s beau Machine Gun Kelly (Forget Me Too).

If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power comes out on August 17th.
