NINE Inch Nails rocker Trent Reznor has lashed out at Grammy organisers after his performance was cut short during yesterday's telecast.

After a 3 ½-hour ceremony that saw performances by the likes of Beyonce, Daft Punk and Macklemore, Reznor closed the show as part of a star-studded collaboration with Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsay Buckingham.

The rock gods opened with Nine Inch Nail's Copy of A before seguing into Queens of the Stone Age's My God is the Sun - but fans at home didn't get to see the full performance, as the credits started to roll midway through. Some viewers even had the closing performance muted as a voiceover thanked the event's corporate sponsors.

Always outspoken, Reznor later tweeted his thoughts about his performance being cut short - and we're guessing the 48-year old rock veteran won't be back on the Grammys stage any time soon.

This isn't the first time Reznor has spoken out against the music industry's biggest awards night. In a 2011 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he described the awards as "rigged and cheap - like a popularity contest that the insiders club has decided."

And Reznor wasn't the only performer to express his displeasure after yesterday's ceremony. Macklemore, who took home four awards, posted a tweet he'd sent to fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar on Instagram, lamenting the fact he'd won Best Rap Album instead of his peer.
