The age-defying royal wore a chic, low-cut leopard print swimsuit while enjoying the waves.
Her husband of 17 years and the future king of Denmark also looked relaxed during the beach day.
The pair swam with their youngest children, 10-year-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
The royals have spent all their holidays in Skagen throughout the pandemic.
After their dip in the ocean, Princess Mary changed into activewear and ran along the sand, playing fetch with their dog Grace.
She was also spotted strolling along the shore with her young children.
Their eldest children Prince Christian and Princess Isabella did not appear to have joined their parents for the outing.
Prince Frederik and Princess Mary are the parents to Prince Christian, 16, Princess Isabella, 14, and their twins, Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent, 10.
Their trip comes after their eldest child Christian contracted Covid-19 in December 2020.
The palace confirmed at the time that the then-15-year-old, who is second in line to the throne behind his father, contracted coronavirus from an outbreak at his high school, which was confirmed in a statement by the palace.
“On Sunday, December 6, 2020, the Crown Prince couple were briefed about a local outbreak of Covid-19 at Tranegårdskolen in Hellerup. Subsequently, Prince Christian has tested positive for Covid-19,” the statement read.
It is known that the Prince has since recovered from the virus.
In the year 2000, 28-year-old Mary Donaldson, originally from Tasmania, met Prince Frederik at the Sydney restaurant and bar Slip Inn. Frederik was in the country for the Sydney Olympics.
Meeting with Prince Felipe of Spain, who knew the sister of Mary’s roommate, Prince Frederik introduced himself to Mary as “Fred”.
“The first time we met, we shook hands,” the now Princess told Jens Andersen, the author of Prince Frederik’s authorised autobiography, Under The Bar. “I didn’t know he was the Prince of Denmark. Half an hour later, someone came up to me and said, ‘Do you know who these people are?’”
Prince Frederik and Mary Donaldson wed at the Copenhagen Cathedral in May 14, 2004.
