Matt Damon donates $10k during surprise appearance at Brisbane charity event
US blockbuster star Matt Damon has dropped into a Brisbane charity event, where he reportedly donated $10,000.
Matt Damon has surprised guests at a charity event in Brisbane, where he made a generous donation.
The US blockbuster star, 50, is currently in Australia filming Thor: Love and Thunder alongside Chris Hemsworth, where he has been seen spending his down time in various cities along the east coast.
Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, 45, have spent the last few days in the Queensland capital where they attended an event for domestic violence charity, Safe Haven, at the Calile Hotel on Friday.
A since-deleted post on Reddit revealed the Jason Bourne actor donated $10,000 during the luncheon.
“My mum founded a charity fighting domestic violence. During a fundraising lunch, Matt Damon dropped in and donated $10,000,” the post read.
Excited guests took to Instagram to post pictures with Damon at the event, where he was sporting a grey blazer, white button-up shirt and black pants.

Damon was later seen shopping with his wife of 16 years and their eldest daughter, Isabella, at a boutique jewellery store in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley on Saturday.
The Oscar-nominated actor went unnoticed at Molten Jewellery before leaving without making a purchase, according to the Courier Mail.
Paparazzi pictures showed the actor walking around James Street with an Apple shopping bag.

Damon has been in Australia since January, when he quarantined with Barroso and their three children in Byron Bay.
Most recently, he was spotted in the small NSW town of Jugiong with Hemsworth and his family.
Upon his arrival to Australia, Damon said he was “so excited” to be heading down under for work, after he enjoyed a lengthy stint here in 2019.
“I’m so excited that my family and I will be able to call Australia home for the next few months,” he said.
“Australian film crews are world-renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it.”
The latest Thor movie is being filmed in Sydney, and will also star an A-list cast including Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt and Christian Bale.
