In an Instagram story shared on Tuesday, the comedian and TV host revealed he had a skin cancer cut out from his forehead, leaving him with five stitches above his right eye.

“Got a mini face lift,” he joked in caption of one close-up image of his face post-surgery.

“I’m doing the other side in a few weeks.”

While Blake assured his followers he was OK and on the mend, he did say the whole ordeal was a wake-up call for him and others to do regular sun safety checks.

“OK not really. This is my reminder to anyone who needs it (i.e. everyone) to get your skin checked every six months,” he wrote alongside a second selfie.

“By the way, everything totally fine, but glad she got caught very early,” he concluded.

In recent years, the Lego Masters Australia host is not the only one to stress the importance of skin checks.

Blake urged his followers to get their skin checked.

Last April, Aussie actor Hugh Jackman gave fans an update on his skin cancer scare after undergoing two procedures on his face – one in 2021 and the other one year later.

Taking to Instagram, the Wolverine star revealed at the time that he underwent two biopsies after doctors became suspicious of markings on his nose, fearing it could be basal cell carcinomas – the most common form of skin cancer.

He was soon given the all clear but not after an anxious two-day wait.

“My biopsies came back,” he shared in a note posted to his Instagram Story. “Negative!!! Thank you ALL for the love. I feel it!”

In a separate post, Jackman also opened up about his second skin cancer ordeal in which. like Blake, he urged his fans to get checked.

“I know you’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. I’m going to keep talking about them, if need be,” he said in the clip while wearing bandage on his nose.

“And if it reminds even one person to put on sunscreen with a high SPF, then I’m happy.”
