Hugh Jackman has returned to social media to update fans on his latest skin cancer scare.

The Australian actor revealed earlier this week that he underwent two biopsies after doctors became suspicious of markings on his nose, fearing it could be basal cell carcinomas – the most common form of skin cancer.

After an anxious-two-day wait, the 54-year-old said he received a negative result, much to his relief.

“My biopsies came back,” he shared in a note posted to his Instagram Story. “Negative!!! Thank you ALL for the love. I feel it!”

Jackman also thanked the media for helping him spread awareness and highlight the importance of wearing sunscreen – a message he reiterated in his post today.

“Please remember to wear sunscreen with a high level of SPF (no matter the season),” he wrote.

It was on Tuesday that Jackman opened up about his latest health scare. With a bandage on his nose, The Wolverine star appeared in an Instagram video to stress the need of getting regular check-ups.

“I know you’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. I’m going to keep talking about them, if need be,” he said in the clip. “And if it reminds even one person to put on sunscreen with a high SPF, then I’m happy.”

Jackman, who is set to begin filming Deadpool 3 in coming months, has had numerous skin cancer scares in the past.

Back in 2017, he had six skin cancers removed from his face within a two-year period, and he once again underwent a biopsie in 2021, which ended with the star rocking a medical bandage on his ear.

“So, if you’re like me and you didn’t really know any better when you were young, and you didn’t wear sunscreen, and you were in the Australian sun, then you need to get a check-up even more,” he said in an Instagram video at the time.

“I just had mine done, I just had a little biopsy, it’s pre-cancerous, it’s not much, but I’m really glad I went.”
