Nicole Kidman poses in lingerie with a snake for Vogue in her most raciest cover shoot yet

Aussie actress Nicole Kidman takes a walk on the wild side on the cover of Vogue Australia, effortlessly posing with a snake.

Who knew Nicole Kidman had a rebellious streak?

Not only does the Aussie actress take a walk on the wild side as she fronts the new issue of Vogue Australia, but in the accompanying interview she reflects on her younger years where she snuck into nightclubs, much to her father’s dismay.

In one of her most risqué photo shoots yet captured by photographer Steven Klein, the 56-year-old star sported a racy red latex dress with a plunging lace neckline, which she daringly accessorised with a black snake for a necklace.

Kidman completed her edgy look with a pair of red sunglasses, chunky diamond rings and a black-tipped manicure.

And it seems posing with the snake was Kidman’s idea, as she’s fascinated by the reptile’s ability to shed its skin, giving way to her own analogy of evolving as an actress.

“You can try different things, all the time, which is what excites me …,” she says in the February issue of the fashion bible.

“You can either become more rigid as you become older, but you can also become more free.”

Inside the magazine, Kidman posed for even edgier photos and ensembles under the style direction of Vogue Australia Editor-in-Chief Christine Centenera.

In one photo, the Expats star wore a tight skin-coloured leather skirt with a strappy black bralette, and in another she rocked a skimpy lace bra with a futuristic perspex belt attached to a form-fitting skirt.

With her squeaky-clean demeanour, many would presume Kidman has been wholesome since day one. But she says like many, she too rebelled when she was younger and her father Antony had to step in when she’d still be out clubbing in the wee hours.

“People would be like, “Who’s that?” And it would be my father showing up to drag me home,” she shared. “I’m grateful for that now. There were always those two things happening, where I was like, ‘I wanna be wild!’ And then I would have a strong family and nourishing home. I probably still have those two parts to my personality.”

The last time one of Kidman’s magazine covers made headlines was back in 2022 when she posed for Vanity Fair’s annual Hollywood issue in a teeny-tiny Miu Miu miniskirt and crop-top, showcasing her impressive abs.

The cover caused quite a stir with online critics wondering “why she’s styled like an early 90s teen pop star” and dressed like “teenager in Euphoria”.

But in later interview with Stellar magazine, the actress said it was purely her decision to wear that outfit on the cover.

“I make the most random, crazy choices. I call them ‘teenage choices’ because I just don’t ever think of consequences,” she told the outlet back in July.

“Part of my brain just doesn’t think like that. I just go, ‘Oh, I’m going to wear that; it reminds me of my school uniform.’ Or ‘Oh my God, yeah, I’d love to do that.’

“I try to [stay] in that place because I think otherwise you get scared or worried.”
