Late Glee star Naya Rivera’s ex-husband responds to the rumours he is dating her sister Nickayla, after photos emerge and they move in together.

Late Glee star Naya Rivera’s ex-husband has responded to critics after photos emerged of him holding hands with her sister Nickayla, with whom she has moved in.

Last week, Nickayla, 25, and Dorsey, 37, were photographed shopping in Los Angeles — appearing to be holding hands — following reports they have moved in together to care for Dorsey and Naya’s five-year-old son Josey. The young boy was on the boat from which the actress tragically drowned in July.

According to The Daily Mail, the grieving pair are renting a three-bedroom home together in LA.

Now, Dorsey has taken to Instagram to address the situation in an emotional video.

The actor revealed in the black-and-white video he was in disbelief he had to address “any of this nonsense.”

“I usually don’t read comments on my own stuff because I know how there can be 50 good things said and five negative ones. Somehow as humans we get those five negative ones stuck in our heads wondering how people could say certain things,” Ryan said.

“S*** man, I wish I was worried about a relationship right now. Not thinking about this and living with this every day,” Ryan said.

“I think to myself how lucky I am to still have my mom and still have her help out in my life still,” he shared.

“Then I think about how he won’t have that same opportunity in his future. It makes me beyond sad. I ask myself why? What did he do to deserve this? I know he didn’t do anything to deserve this, but the things people have said are sad,” he said.

He explained to his fans that he told Josey that Naya was in heaven, and he replied, “Well, I want to go there. How do I get there?”

“I wouldn’t wish that upon any of your ears to have to hear those words come out of the sweetest soul you know,” he added.

He also explained how it was Josey who asked for Nickayla to move in with them.

Dorsey was upset with people's assumptions

“[Josey] asks me if Titi can live with us. ‘I want Titi to live with us forever,’ because she’s now the closest thing he has to a mom. You’re going to need all the help you can get as a single parent trying to build your career and navigate this disaster with your child,” Ryan said.

While “it’s temporary and it's not forever,” Dorsey wanted to give Josey the family he was asking for.

He also praised Nickayla for everything she has done.

“To have a young woman who is his blood, his Titi, who is willing to put her life on hold and sacrifice things, uproot her situation for the betterment of your child,” Ryan said.

“So when you put your child to bed you don’t always have to be alone with your thoughts and you don’t have to be sad any day or night wondering when does it get better. At least you have someone there with you to talk to or just sit in silence and be sad with. You don’t have to deal with being completely alone,” he said.

Ryan ended his video hoping others will “think twice before they go insert their opinion and jump to conclusions. Think about sending people DM’s wishing death upon strangers who are dealing with so much that they know absolutely zero about”.

While reps for Dorsey and the Rivera family have not yet responded to the reports, Nickayla spoke out about spending time with Dorsey on Instagram.

On Monday night, she wrote that she was simply “showing up” for her nephew, asking that critics show “compassion” in the wake of the tragedy.

“In the darkest time of my life, the only thing that is important is my friends & family. Showing up for my nephew even though I can’t show up for myself,” she explained.

Adding that she’s “not concerned with the way things look”, she wrote; “no one can see each agonizing moment we all endure.

“What matters most I’ve learned, is to show compassion, not to judge others and never take a moment for granted. I hope you can all do the same,” Nickayla concluded.

Naya went missing while swimming off a boat in Lake Piru, north of Los Angeles, on July 8.

Her son Josey was found alone on the boat hours later, and after a massive search, Rivera’s body was found in the lake several days later.

Though a good swimmer, Naya suffered from vertigo, which intensified when she was in the water, according to the most recent autopsy and investigation details.

Lake Piru is known for its strong currents and deep waters. Eight people have drowned there since 1994.

This week, it emerged that Dorsey had moved in with model Nickayla as they care for Naya’s son, Josey.

Nickayla was seen helping Ryan move his belongings from his previous home in North Hills, in the San Fernando Valley, on September 6.

“They were fooling around and chatting the whole time,” a witness to the pair’s trip to a Target store told the publication.

“They’re obviously helping lift each other’s spirits.”

Naya and fellow actor Dorsey (Stumptown, Ray Donovan) rekindled a previous relationship after the actress’ split from rapper Big Sean in 2014. They were married in July 2014 and Josey was born on September 17, 2015.

Naya, who shot to fame on the TV series Glee in 2009, initially sought to split from Dorsey in 2016, though the two reconciled. They eventually separated for good in 2018.

“There’s not enough words to express the hole left in everyone’s hearts,” Dorsey wrote in an Instagram tribute to Rivera after her death.

“Life is all about good times and bad times but with Josey it makes the bad a little less so because a part of you will always be with us. He’ll never forget where he came from. We miss you. We will always love you.”

Nickayla also posted a long tribute to her sister, saying their “connection is infinite”.
