Russell Crowe among stars nominated for 2024 Razzies

It’s the big Hollywood award no actor wants - and this year, stars like Russell Crowe, Jennifer Lopez and Vin Diesel are up for the (dis)honour.

Russell Crowe is among the celebs this year up for the big Hollywood award nobody wants: The Golden Raspberry Awards, aka the Razzies.

The annual awards call out the worst films and performances of the past year - and Crowe is nominated for his work in The Pope’s Exorcist.

That supernatural horror film was released to middling reviews in April last year, starring Crowe as the pope’s personal exorcist, doing battle with evil forces.

Crowe’s up against Hollywood action heroes Vin Diesel and Jason Statham in the ‘Worst Actor’ category, with Chris Evans also nominated for the straight-to-streaming romance Ghosted.

His co-star Ana De Armas has “earned” a Worst Actress nomination, alongside Megan Fox, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Lopez and Dame Helen Mirren.

The Razzies have been running for 44 years now and, while most celebs nominated choose to ignore the awards, some embrace the shame: Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock have both appeared at the Razzies ceremony in person in the past to collect their “Worst Actress” awards.

Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek’s performances in Magic Mike's Last Dance have scored them a “Worst Screen Couple” nomination.

More recently, the Razzies themselves have been the subject of criticism, with the award organisers apologising last year after nominating 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong for Worst Actress. They later rescinded her nomination and promised to leave performers under the age of 18 out of the awards in future.

This year, Expend4bles, the fourth entry in the Expendables action franchise, tops the nominations list with seven nods. The full list:
