During its keynote at consumer electronics and home appliances trade show, IFA, Samsung unveiled a slate of new and upcoming products – including an AI-driven recipe app titled Samsung Food.
First announced last week, the interesting addition to Samsung’s line up is now available to download across 104 countries, including Australia, in eight different languages.
The app draws from Whisk, a previously acquired smart food platform, to let you search for over 160,000 different recipes, save them and create weekly meal plans.
Samsung Food will soon be available in Australia on Bespoke Family Hub refrigerators to bring you recipe recommendations based on what’s already in your fridge, helping you to save money and prevent you from throwing out the forgotten veggies at the bottom of your fridge.
By the end of the year, it will also be able to convert saved recipes based on your dietary requirements, allowing you to whip up a vegan version of the stir fry you just favourited, or create a more nutritionally balanced version of your go-to pasta dish.
Also due later this year is an integration into the Samsung Health platform which, according to a Samsung press release, will “help users to hit health goals and maintain a balanced diet.”
Speaking to news.com.au, Vice President of Consumer Electronics for Samsung Australia, Jeremy Senior, said “This is kind of a stage one of a multistage approach. So, the idea behind this is that you’ll get that much more integrated outcome to your health objectives.”
Continuing to demonstrate the breadth of its range, the Korean tech giant also showed audience members in Berlin everything from Disney-fied artwork for its The Frame TV to a new AI washer/dryer combo.
While Australia will once again, frustratingly, miss out on some key products, we’ve rounded up everything coming to Aussie shores below.

The Freestyle 2nd Gen is big news for gamers
Samsung first announced a refresh of its The Freestyle portable projector at CES earlier this year, but the waiting period is officially over.
Available now on sale for $999, The Freestyle 2nd Gen is much like its predecessor except for one big addition. Users can now access the Gaming Hub and various cloud gaming services from Nvidia, Xbox, and more.
Cloud gaming will also allow users to enjoy the most popular games from Samsung’s streaming partners – including hotly anticipated title, Starfield. With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you can play the next-gen RPG directly through Cloud Gaming with no console required – all you need is a gaming controller.
Disney artwork comes to The Frame
In celebration of Disney’s 100th anniversary, Samsung revealed a special edition The Frame TV complete with a platinum-silver metal frame and Mickey Mouse-inspired remote.
While the TV itself will unfortunately not be coming to Australia, 100 pieces of art from the Disney collection have been added to the Samsung Art Store.
Australians can access the special pieces with a subscription, which costs $59.90 a year and comes with a free trial period.
If you hate washing, you’ll love this
While Samsung couldn’t promise us that its Bespoke AI Washer & Dryer Combo is coming to Australia, there is still a small possibility that we’ll see it next year.
Capable of completing laundry loads in one step, the combo saves on space while eliminating the need to transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer. The unit combines a 25kg large washing capacity with a 13kg heat pump drying capability, and features SmartThings for smart home connectivity.
Thanks to the AI integration, the model can also assess your load and optimise the amount of water and detergent based on factors like weight and softness of the fabric.
Once the cycle finishes, the door even opens automatically to air out the drum, making it a good investment for the time poor and those who just can’t stand laundry day.
When your screen just isn’t big enough
Okay, so it might not be a completely new announcement, but for those who missed gamescom, the Odyssey Neo G9 Monitor (G95NC model) is big news. 57-inches big to be exact.
According to Samsung, the monitor is the “World’s first Dual Ultra-High-Definition (DUHD) screen”, wrapping around users to give them an even more immersive gaming experience. The monitor also packs a 240Hz Refresh Rate and 1ms Response Time for smooth gameplay.
The G95NC is available for preorder now for an eye-watering $3199. If you’re willing to fork out for it though, Samsung claims the monitor has been “designed to give [players] an unfair advantage”, so it might just help you climb your way to the top of the leaderboard.
