If you’ve been looking for the right moment to upgrade your laptop, the time has finally arrived.

The end of financial year is just around the corner, which means retailers are rolling out huge offers on laptops, monitors and two-in-one devices.

Better yet, if you intend on using any of these new items for work, you may be eligible to claim them as a tax deduction.

HP’s chopping prices in half with up to 50 per cent off its popular range, including $1798 off the HP OmniBook 7 Aero Next Gen AI (now $1799, down from $3597). This AI-powered gadget weighs less than 1kg and reviewers say it’s a great option to help smash even the busiest days. It features Fast Charge, which can boost your battery from zero to 50 per cent within 30 minutes, plus AMD Radeon 800M graphics for an enjoyable gaming experience.

“The laptop is fast, lightweight, and handles everything I throw at it — multiple tabs, cloud-based apps, emails, and documents — without missing a beat. Lenovo’s also offering up to 43 per cent off in its EOFY Sale. For a more wallet friendly laptop option, the ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 is currently just $849 (down from $1329). That’s a saving of $870!

WHAT IS THE END OF FINANCIAL YEAR?

In Australia, the financial year starts on 1 July and ends on 30 June the following year. The period is often used by businesses to assess their financial performance and prepare for tax filing.

As the 30 of June approaches, many businesses also discount and clear out older stock before the new year begins, giving shoppers a chance to pick up pricey tech items for less.

WHEN ARE THE END OF FINANCIAL YEAR SALES 2025?

The majority of the end of financial year sales will kick off from 1 June. However, some retailers have started their sales early and are already slashing prices on top tech.

HOW LONG DO THE END OF FINANCIAL YEAR SALES LAST?

The length of each sale will differ from retailer to retailer. Some will run their deals all throughout June, while others may wait until the final week of the month to drop their sale. Most sales typically end on 30 June.
