I love a good travel deal. I also love a good bonus points deal.
So naturally when I got wind of TripADeal' latest sale - which features up to 64 per cent off tours and 20,000 in bonus frequent flyer points - I was desperate to know more.
The points deal is simple: Book any tour, cruise and exclusive hotel package and your Qantas Frequent Flyer account will be swimming in 20,000 extra points. There's no minimum spend if you pay in cash, however if you opt to pay with Points Plus Pay you will need to shell out a minimum of $999 to qualify.
Prefer to pay for your entire holiday in points? Sadly that writes you off for this bonus 20k completely - but that's a pretty standard clause when it comes to point redemptions.
As a nice cherry on the top, you'll still earn three points for every dollar spent at TripADeal. So you expect to be rolling in points by the end of your trip.
As for the tour deal? There's a smattering of holidays going for thousands of dollars less to book with this Aussie travel agent right now. To get you on your way, here's our pick of the biggest and the best.
TripADeal's Book and Earn sale ends at midnight AEDT on January 31, 2025.
$200 off: 21-Days 2-for-1 Warriors of China tour, from $2799 for two
Setting you back a measly $66 per person per day, you’re practically being paid to go on holiday, which has over 700 positive reviews.
Highlights include Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Great Wall of China, Terracotta Warriors and Horses and day tours of Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai and travel dates range from May 2025 to March 2026 which gives you a wealth of options for seasons.
Offering fantastic value, full-service international flights, all accommodation, some meals and a bullet train ride are all captured in the price but there is a catch: You've got to travel as a pair. Start forwarding details to your travel partner, pronto.
"Loved all the variety of activities!" says one traveller. "The value of this deal was fantastic."
"We loved all of it!" says another."Highlights were The Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors, both bucket list experiences for us. The tour was extremely well organised, and all accommodation was excellent, but the guides were the standout. Each guide was friendly, experienced, incredibly knowledgeable and passionate in sharing their country's history, which was amazing."
$4000 and free international flights? Wait until we tell you that peak summer dates in August and September are available as well (though they're sure to be snapped up fast!)
This mind blowing tour captures all of The Med's highlights during prime time, starting in Rome and snaking up through Florence, Milan, Venice before skipping across the water on a seven-day MSC cruise to Montenegro and Greece for some island-hopping action in Mykonos and Santorini.
All accommodation is included, and once you're onboard your cruise, all meals will be thrown in too, saving you that much more. As to those points? You'll score a minimum 37,397 points here.
64 per cent off 10-Day Incredible China tour, from $888 per person twin share (valued up to $2499)
With the Lunar New Year comes this auspiciously priced tour of China. At $888, you're saving well over $1000 per person here and with May dates you'll be catching some lovely warm spring weather while you're at it.
Included in the price are full-service return flights from Australia, eight-nights accommodation, daily breakfast and an expertly led tour of Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuxi and Suzhou. Plus, you'll score at least 22,664 Qantas Points when you book by January 31, 2025.
"Everything was better than we would have expected," raves one traveller. "The logistics and organisation was excellent, and so were our tour guides," says another.
Whoever said the Maldives is expensive clearly hasn't cottoned onto this deal. In it are return flights on 5-star airline Singapore Airlines, nine-nights at the exquisite Adaaran Club Rannalhi and all meals and drinks from $355 per person per night. That's cheaper than a Gold Coast getaway!
Prices are for a standard room, but this is the Maldives, so overwater bungalows are a must. If you think so too, upgrades start from $1100 per person per room which covers you for the nine nights which is well worth the extra coin as each is equipped with a private sun deck and direct ocean access. Heaven.
You'll also earn a minimum of 29,597 Qantas Points with this package.
$200 off: 16-Day 5 Star China & Yangtze Cruise, from $2799 per person twin share (down from $2999)
Any excuse for a sale will do, and with Chinese New Year around the bend, TripADeal has slashed a mighty $200 off selected tours of China in celebration. Capturing some of the nation's most beautiful scenery and unique attractions, expect to spend four nights cruising the Yangtze River in a private balcony cabin (the only way to do it in our opinion) and tick the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Terracotta Warriors off your list.
As with all great deals, full-service international flights from Australia and, as the name suggests, five-star accommodation from start to finish.
