At news.com.au checkout, shopping isn’t just our job, it’s our passion.
We can’t get enough of a good sale, plus if we love a product, we won’t stop raving about it.
Here we’ve rounded up all our favourite products that we’ve tried and tested lately – our top pick is anything from Funday Sweets, but specifically the Can’t Decide Box or the new limited edition Peaches & Cream flavour.
Aussies are rushing to get their hands on this healthy 3pm pick-me-up, and it’s one of our personal office favourites.
Happy shopping!
WHAT THE NEWS.COM.AU CHECKOUT TEAM IS LOVING THIS WEEK
The Can’t Decide Box, $58 at Funday Sweets
“When it comes to working in the office, the 3pm slump well and truly hits me hard. And while I love a sweet treat, they sadly don’t love me, and in particular my acne prone skin, in return. But when my colleague first offered me a Funday lolly that promises no added sugar and fewer than 100 calories per pack, I couldn’t refuse. To be completely honest, I thought they would be disgusting. Who actually wants a healthy lolly?
I am very happy to say I was completely wrong. Wow, I am obsessed!
The addictive sour range in particular is my go-to but all of the flavours are delish. They’re also available at your local Coles and Woolies for $4.50 a packet. Seriously, just take my money.
They’re also great for kids. My three year old nephew loves them so much that we now have to hide them from him in the shops so he won’t see them. And if you’re a fan of the OG Peaches & Cream then you have to try the brand’s reimagined version of the classic treat.” – Philippa Tonkin, Shopping Writer
Ouai Scalp Serum, $94 at Sephora
“As someone with a severely dry scalp, this OUAI scalp serum has been amazing at making sure my scalp is hydrated. It has a great scent that isn’t too overpowering, and the formula itself is very lightweight and non-greasy so it doesn’t weigh my hair down. It’s cooling and soothing, and I can really see and feel the difference in my scalp health and hair health after using it!” – Harriet Amurao, Shopping Writer
Reebok Classic AZ Sneakers – Women’s, $140 at The Iconic
“This week I’m loving my new yellow Reebok Classic AZ Sneakers. I actually wanted red trainers, but my teenage daughter got in first and I wasn’t allowed to have the same (not sure why, it’s not like we hang with the same crowd). But I’d also been thinking about yellow trainers so when I saw these ones by Reebok, I couldn’t resist. They’re such a great colour, they go with pretty much anything and they’re comfy to wear to work. My kind of shoe.” – Susannah Hardy, Partnerships Writer
Retrospect Parfum, $147 at MERIT
“Like thousands of other Aussies, I was beyond excited to hear Merit was finally hitting our shores. And with so much hype around the viral beauty brand – it certainly had a lot to live up to. While I could write a whole novel on the quality of the make up, there is an underdog of the Merit collections that I think deserves more recognition – the L’extrait de Parfum. With notes of pear, ambrette, jasmine and vanilla, L’extrait smells like a summer evening in Tahiti and it’s my latest obsession.” – Claudia Coy, Social Media Producer
SodaStream Art Drink Maker Gold, $145 (down from $189) at Kitchen Warehouse
“We’ve had a SodaStream in our house for many, many years, but have recently upgraded to the Art Gold edition, a super chic, gold and white unit with a pull handle. While our old SodaStream was always relegated to the bottom shelf of the pantry, this stunning new edition is a piece of art in itself and has been awarded a place right on our kitchen bench for all to see. Aside from just aesthetics, this SodaStream is super easy to use, with no twisting involved, and just one or two pulls of the lever before your water is all bubbly and ready to go. I love mixing in SodaStream’s Grapefruit and Elderflower mocktail mixer for a little afternoon pick-me-up, or pouring an entire bottle of sparkling water into my Ninja Thirsti waterbottle, designed for keeping carbonated drinks cool while you’re on the go.” – Jessica Smith, Health & Wellness Writer
Hydro Flask Flex Straw Bottle 621ml, $69.99 at Kathmandu
“My kid is constantly eyeing my water bottles and hey, if it gets her drinking more I’m all for it. After coveting my 1L stainless steel bottle I decided to get her a more size-friendly bottle and this one from Hydroflask is absolutely brilliant. It’s quite lean making it easy for her to hold and open, and it uses a flexible straw for mess-free drinking. It’s also leakproof, keeps drinks cold for up to 24-hours and the top is dishwasher-friendly. Best of all, the colours are gorgeous. Naturally we got her the trillium.” – Stephanie Yip, Travel Writer
MX Anywhere 3 for Mac, $79.99 at Logitech
“I’ve tried a lot of computer mice over the years — from bulky office models to hi-tech gaming ones — but nothing comes close to the MX Anywhere 3S for Mac for office and everyday use. It’s small, lightweight, and perfectly compact, making it ideal for on-the-go productivity without feeling clunky or oversized in your backpack.
One of my favourite features is the back and forward buttons, conveniently placed right near the thumb for easy access. Plus, the scroll wheel is incredibly smooth, offering fast, precise scrolling whether you’re navigating documents or web pages. Connectivity is seamless — whether via Bluetooth or using its USB receiver, it pairs effortlessly with any device.
This mouse is perfect for anyone who needs portability, comfort, and top-tier performance in a sleek, reliable package.” – Cindy Du, Shopping Writer
epzen thirst aid hydrating body serum, $34 at epzen
“I am a shocker for forgetting to moisturise the skin on my body, but I’ve been far more attentive now that I have the Epzen Thirst Aid Hydrating Body Serum. It’s packed with niacinamide, squalane and prickly pear seed oil, because it’s not just the skin on our face that should have all the skincare attention. I love the creamy lotion texture of this serum that makes it really quick and easy to spread on the skin, unlike a thicker body butter. It never leaves a tacky feeling and always has my skin looking glowy and hydrated. Plus, the cute pump bottle is a win too.” – Jessica Smith, Health & Wellness Writer
Get Started Pack, $55 (down from $79.95) at By Me & Crew
“If you’re like me and don’t have the time and patience to sit in a nail salon for a few hours or are simply trying to save some money, you’ll love these semi-cured gel nail stickers. They’re affordable, easy to apply and the perfect solution for a quick salon-quality manicure at home. There are a tonne of colours and designs to choose from and you can also purchase starter bundles so that you’re all set from the get-go. What’s interesting about these nail stickers is that they come with different sized stickers that you can customise to match your nail size perfectly – you can cut them to size or even stretch them out if they’re too small which is a total game-changer. I used the style ‘Checkmate’ and did my nails in a little under 30 minutes – an absolute breeze if I do say so myself. I highly recommend these beginner-friendly nail stickers for anyone that’s after a quick mani.” – Harriet Amurao, Shopping Writer
Joico Curl Confidence Defining Creme, $40.95 at Adore Beauty
“I have kinda curly, kinda wavy hair, and while the full curly hair routine is effective at giving me amazing curls, it usually takes forever — and honestly, I’m just not that bothered. My hair is also on the drier side, so most thick curl products just weigh it down and make it feel heavy. That’s why I was pleasantly surprised by Joico Curl Confidence Defining Crème! It’s lightweight but hydrating, defines my waves without the crunch, and actually makes my hair feel soft and bouncy instead of heavy or sticky. It also helps with frizz control, which is a big win for me.” – Cindy Du, Shopping Writer
Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez, from $12 at Amazon Australia
“I have been wanting to dive into titles by rom com writer Abby Jimenez for ages now and I finally got the chance when my Kris Kringle wish came true (thanks to my colleague, Jess). I received Yours Truly and it was such a treat to read, especially over the holiday period. Literally I was in from the first page – funny banter, adorable characters and super high stakes, I couldn't put it down. Especially when the two love interests start communicating via letter (think The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary) and I love that. For fans of friends-to-lovers and fake dating, this is a fun and truly satisfying read. It’s my first Abby Jimenez but it definitely won’t be my last.” – Susannah Hardy, Partnerships Writer
EveryLash Serum Infused Mascara, $49.95 at Lash Therapy Australia
”I’ve been loving the Lash Therapy Growth Serum Mascara. It always makes my lashes feel super long and luscious, and never flakes or leaves a black smudge under my bottom lashes. The flexible wand, which you can change via the twisty lid to be curved or straight is a super handy tool when you’re wanting to get right in the corners too. Plus, this also washes off really easy without pulling on the lashes. And there’s no better feeling that knowing you’re enhancing the health of your lashes at the same time, right?” – Jessica Smith, Health & Wellness Writer
MooGoo Fast Hydrating Lotion, $24.50 at Nourished Life
”If you love a good thick moisturiser that is absorbed quickly then you’ll love MooGoo’s Fast Hydrating Lotion. Like all MooGoo products it’s gentle on sensitive skin and is packed with heaps of natural ingredients like Sweet Almond and Olive Squalane and Aloe Vera and German Chamomile. It’s a staple in our home!” – Stephanie Yip, Travel Writer
