Police and ambulance officers were called to a Catholic boys’ school on Thursday following a “serious” fight among senior students, the Herald Sun can reveal.

The melee involving students at St Bede’s College in Mentone occurred on Thursday afternoon.

Principal Deborah Frizza wrote to parents telling them of the incident that involved “ a very small number of senior students”.

“A physical altercation took place between these students, resulting in injury,” she said.

“One student was presented to the College’s First Aid Department, and upon review, an ambulance was called to attend to this student. The college is in close communication with the student’s family and is working with Victorian police.”
