A prominent Melbourne chiropractor arrested in 2018 on high-level cocaine trafficking charges will not get to trial until next year.
Warren Sipser is facing allegations he imported 120kg of the drug, concealed in wine bottles from South Africa in July, 2018.
Mr Sipser was arrested in December of that year in an operation run by Australian Federal Police agents.
He made an unsuccessful Supreme Court bail application in May last year.
The final directions hearing will be held in December this year, meaning Mr Sipser will not go to trial until well into 2021.
It had been expected the matter would be dealt with this year.
Mr Sipser is facing charges of importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug, possession of a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug, two counts of trafficking cocaine, two of possessing cocaine and two of dealing in the proceeds of crime.
He is accused of having 120kg of cocaine, concealed in 600 wine bottles, shipped from Johannesburg to his Elwood clinic in July of 2018.
Two men who collected the consignment were later arrested north of Melbourne but released without being charged.
Mr Sipser is the former husband of television personality and author Andi Lew.
