Warren Sipser, 43, has been locked up on remand for 10 months after being charged with importing a commercial quantity of cocaine from South Africa.

The school’s founding principal Jeffrey Wolf told the SA Jewish Report of his sadness at the news.

“I only have praise for Warren, he showed great leadership and integrity, he played rugby and did fairly well academically,” Mr Wolf told the newspaper.

“He stood for all the good things that the school still stands for. This is sad news. I’m not sure what happened when he emigrated, and if he got caught up in something.”

Police have alleged 120kg of cocaine concealed in 600 wine bottles was delivered to Mr Sipser’s Elwood clinic and collected by two men in July, 2018.

Those men were arrested and released without charge.

It has been alleged Mr Sipser bought wine online from Johannesburg a month before police made their move.
