Bikie-busting police have arrested a man and raided several homes in Melbourne’s south over firearms offences.

A 29-year-old Clyde North man was arrested in Clyde North this morning.

His arrest has been linked to recent firearm offences involving the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang.

The man is currently being questioned by Echo Taskforce detectives.

It is alleged he was caught on camera shooting an assault rifle.

He is expected to be charged with the offences of prohibited person using firearm and prohibited person possessing firearm.

The man is also subject to a current Firearm Prohibition Order.

He was charged with possessing and using firearm contrary to Firearm Prohibition Order and entering or remaining on premises with a firearm stored in contravention of a Firearm Prohibition Order relating to the breach of that order.

The man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

Properties in Clyde North, Nar Nar Goon, Narre Warren and Tetoora Road were raided as part of the bikie-linked firearms investigation.

Seven firearms and ammunition were seized from the Tetoora Road address.

A 32-year-old man from that address has been interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons with firearms offences.

Earlier this month, senior Finks member Sione Hokafonu and Ali Hussein were charged with the attempted murder of Mongols MC member Rocco Curra.

Mr Curra survived after being shot multiple times while sitting in his car in Bulleen in August.

Three weeks earlier, Mr Hokafonu had been wounded by gunfire in mysterious circumstances after watching the State of Origin at Fountain Gate Hotel.
