A teen has been charged with stabbing two men after a reported brawl in Morwell on Friday night.

Police said two men got out of a car on Church St about 7pm before a physical altercation ensued with a group.

Two Morwell men, aged 25 and 18, were reportedly stabbed during the scuffle.

The group then fled on foot but were found a short time later near the train station.

One local said up to 20 youths were fighting on the street at the height of the violence.

The two victims are believed to have been outnumbered when the mob descended on them.

“It was a lot of young people. I was told they were eshays,” the local said.

“It’s pretty scary.”

Police later searched the nearby railway station and interviewed witnesses who were in the commercial hub at the time.

There are many CCTV cameras which would have captured the altercation and the movements of those involved before and after.

Detectives and forensic investigators were at the scene until well into the night.

Patrons at a nearby Chinese restaurant were among those asked for an account of what they had seen.

A 15-year-old Traralgon boy was arrested and charged with intentionally causing injury, affray, assault with a weapon and unlawful assault.

He will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or contact police.
