The heartbroken sister of Jesse Baird has paid tribute to the murdered television star, remembering him as her “best friend and now guardian angel”.

Kourtnee Baird posted the heartfelt tribute to her Instagram account on Friday night, hours after hundreds of people gathered in Sydney to remember Mr Baird and his partner Luke Davies.

It has been 11 days since police allege the new couple were murdered by cop Beau Lamarre-Condon, who had previously been linked to Mr Baird.

In her post, Ms Baird thanked her brother for being her “first ever friend” and for “showing me how important it is to be myself (and) for pushing me to reach my goals and helping me believe anything is possible”.

“No words will ever be enough for the heartache we all feel,” she wrote.

“You were truly the most inspiring, influential, caring and loving person.

“You were the bright light in the room, the show pony, the first and last on the dance floor, and as I sit here writing this with tears streaming, I can’t help but smirk and giggle at the memories that remain.”

Ms Baird said her brother, who was a popular television presenter and AFL umpire, had achieved so much at just 26.

“The mark you have left on the world is unforgettable and I promise to carry on the legacy you built,” she wrote.

“Quite truly – everything you touched, turned to gold. The only person I know that celebrated everyone else’s wins more than their own and everyone’s champion.

“Your passion and love for life was inspiring, you were unique, you were humble, you were loyal, but most of all – you were kind.”

Ms Baird said she will climbing mountains with her brother and singing in the car with him.

“I will miss your impersonations, hearing your voice pop up on the TV, your smile and the way you could change the mood of the room simply by being present,” she added.

“I’ll now forever be watching the sky for the brightest star, the colourful rainbows and the butterfly’s fluttering around, and I’ll know that is you holding me up.”

Mr Baird’s family this week visited the crime scene in regional New South Wales where the couple’s remains were found.
