Three people have been charged with murder after the body of a young man was found in a burnt out car near Shepparton last week

The trio was arrested on Friday morning following the death of Wangaratta man Charlie Gander on Christmas Eve.

Mr Gander, 19, was found in a burning vehicle on Loch Garry Rd in Bunbartha about 10am.

A 38-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, both from Shepparton, and a 24-year-old Mooroopna man were all charged with murder.

They remain in custody and will appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on January 3.

Relatives have shared their sorrow on social media.

“Still don’t wanna believe it’s real,” Mitch Gander posted to Facebook.

“My heart aches to know you’re really gone.”

The Border Mail reported Mr Gander was due to face several charges in court next year after multiple arrests.
