Richmond AFLW star Jess Hosking has found herself in hot water once again after being charged with driving a jetski while under the influence of alcohol during a holiday to Queensland.
The Tigers confirmed the incident to News Corp, which occurred over the weekend.
Last month, Hosking was forced to apologise after receiving a ‘please explain’ from the AFL for having the words ‘kill bitches’ written on strapping on her arm during Richmond’s semi-final clash with North Melbourne.
The AFL did not punish Hosking for the “offensive language” after she responded and expressed that she was “extremely remorseful and deeply disappointed in her actions”.
Queensland Police said a 27-year-old woman from Armadale has been given a notice to appear for “mid range drink driving of a vessel” and was scheduled to face Southport Magistrates Court on December 14.
The spokeswoman said it was alleged the incident happened on December 4 at Surfers Paradise.
In Queensland, the law for operating personal boats and other personal watercraft while intoxicated is the same as for driving cars, with a maximum allowed Blood Alcohol Concentration of 0.05.
Fines and even jail sentences can apply for drink driving offences in the state.
“Richmond is aware of an incident in Queensland over the weekend involving AFLW player Jess Hosking,” Richmond said in a statement.
“Hosking has been charged with driving a jet ski while under the influence of alcohol.
“The AFL has been informed of the incident and as this matter is currently under investigation by Queensland Police we are unable to make any further comment.”
Hosking has been on the Gold Coast enjoying a post-season holiday with her twin sister Sarah and their Tigers teammates Grace Egan and Ellish Sheerin.
Hosking, who turned 27 last week, had finished equal-ninth in Richmond’s AFLW best-and-fairest count which was held in Melbourne last Friday night.
