A Rebels bikie clubhouse in Melbourne’s east has been firebombed in an early morning attack.
The outlaw motorcycle gang stronghold on Montrose, was hit by an arsonist at 5.30am on Monday.
No one was inside the factory, which is in a quiet industrial area off Canterbury Rd.
It is unclear why the clubhouse was targeted.
Local detectives are investigating and the anti-bikie Echo taskforce has been notified.
The Rebels are regarded, with the Comancheros, Finks, Mongols, Hells Angels and Bandidos, as one of Australia’s bix-six bikie gangs.
A Victoria Police statement on the Montrose blaze said a crime scene had been established while the circumstances were established.
“At this stage, the fire is being treated as suspicious and investigations remain ongoing,” the statement said.
Police are hoping to hear from anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which could help their inquiry.
It comes after the Herald Sun last week revealed arsonists also targeted two blind factories in Bayswater and Kilsyth, dousing them in fuel before setting each alight and causing $25 million in damages.
