Sporting a diamond-encrusted neck chain, the new boss of the Comancheros has led his club on its national run ahead of a grand final bash.

The hard hit Comanchero bikie gang hit the road for its national run Saturday morning.

At the front of the Harley Davidson convoy was its new leader, Allan Meehan — dubbed the “bath robe” bikie.

Meehan wasn’t wearing his robe as he was stopped in a pre-planned police inspection point just outside the Comanchero’s Melbourne clubhouse about 10.30am

Instead, the bikie boss was wearing a diamond-encrusted gold neck chain as he led 27 of the gang’s top members and a handful of associates through the police checkpoint set up in a Hallam industrial park.

“Happy to be here,” he yelled at the Herald Sun with a grin as he mingled with his “Como” cohort before leading them out in his first “run” as boss.

Gang members flew in from across Australia, including NSW, Western Australia and Queensland for the run.

Most Queensland members did not ride with the convoy along Princes Hwy, choosing to remain inside the club house.

Meehan’s rise to power as national president of the “Comos” was thrust upon him this year following a series of arrests, and a shooting, of its high-ranking members.

After about 30 members roared out of Hallam industrial park, the convoy wove through Prahran and Dandenong North before looping back to Hallam for a grand final party.

Some big names were missing from the “run” though.

They included former president Mick Murray, national sgt-at-arms Tarek Zahed and Victorian enforcer Christian Tuamefolu.

All three are on remand in jail facing separate charges.

The leadership has been under intense scrutiny from federal, Victorian and NSW police in a major crackdown on the gang.

Another “Como” boss, Mark Buddle, the club’s “Commander of the World”, was also a no show.

Buddle, 37, is also sitting in a Melbourne jail on remand after spending years abroad, including Turkey.

He is accused of importing $40m in cocaine.

Victoria Police’s Echo and VIPER taskforce members, along with a number of specialist members, monitored the ride for any criminal, road safety or public order offences.

One motorcycle was banned from the ride over a number plate breach.

But the police arrived minutes too late to intercept two white Lamborghinis speeding side-by-side on Wedgewood Rd.

Victoria Police worked alongside the AFP’s National Anti Gangs Squad as part of a national approach to OMCG enforcement, tracking the convoy along Princes Hwy and back to Hallam.

There were no reported incidents.
