The death of a man eight days after a violent neighbourhood dispute in Dromana is under homicide squad investigation.

Police say the man had been involved in a confrontation between two groups of people from adjacent properties on Palmerston Avenue on the night of January 31.

The fight was allegedly sparked by a 37-year-old Hastings man driving at residents and assaulting them.

A man and woman who were at the property with the 21-year-old suffered minor injuries and were treated at a local hospital.

“The matter will now be investigated by the Homicide Squad following the man’s death,” the police statement said.
