A human finger has been discovered on a street in Melbourne’s north.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding how the finger came to be severed before a passer-by discovered it on a nature strip in Glenroy.
The person who discovered the finger found it on Prospect St about 2pm on Wednesday.
Investigators do not know who the severed finger belongs to or how it ended up on the nature strip and are calling on any witnesses to come forward.
It is unclear whether the person who lost the finger is male or female.
Their age is also not clear at this stage.
